There are multiple widths to set the wheels. I used it to add 1/4" seam allowance to an applique pattern for quilting! I love it!

While I wish this had one serrated and one smooth wheel, this works well. I get standard Sean allowances and cut lines which is all I need. It’s very clever though putting the two together on one handle. Saves time and is just generally useful

I make my own patterns OR trace purchased patterns and then sketch the alteration on the traced pattern. This tool makes it easy to note the stitching line and the cutting line. The stitching line is important for measuring the inside garment and to remind me of the seam allowance I added.

I lost some weight and am smaller than the smallest size on many of my patterns. I got this because I can size my patterns down. Also good for making adjustments in patterns such as the waist or full bust. You can put the pins in several slots and it works well with delicate fabrics as there are no pin points, they are curves that with tracing paper, make a dotted line.

the idea is super brilliant, but one of the wheels already kind of needs replacing. the metal of the wheels is very flimsy and has bent; i was able to bend it back, it's just I keep feeling that the one wheel is off enough to throw my project off.

Don't know why I didn't notice this baby before. It works way better than the two pencils held 5/8" apart with a rubber thingy that I was using. It's great for adding or subtracting seam allowances, and it allows you to use several different widths. Makes Burda magazine patterns easier to tame. I haven't used it a lot of times since I bought it, but when I have it's worked wonderfully. Makes removing, then adding back seam allowances on the pattern for a Chanel-like jacket much less scary. I highly recommend it for garment sewers.

This is an awesome tool. Read about it in one of Kenneth King's books. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but I'm sure it will eliminate a lot of frustration and speed up the pattern layout process. I won't hesitate now to purchase patterns that do not include seam allowances. I'm also excited about the possibilities of its usefulness for other purposes. It is one of those things that you wish you had known about years ago and wonder why it isn't more widely available. Very clever design which allows you to lay the wheels flat for storage then pivot them around when in use. Also allows for variable spacing between wheels. What a fantastic gadget.

Simple enough to figure out without detailed instructions. An accurate way to trace a pattern outside the cut line to add a size or two to a commercial pattern that the largest size printed is a size too small. Hint: Measure the amount of extra space needed and center on the center hole, spreading each wheel out from there half the amount needed. Also works as a single wheel tracing tool with the extra wheel removed.
