I bought this bit for slotting composite decking for installation of TimberTech hidden fasteners. It did a good job, the slot worked well with the fasteners, however the bearing and nut meant that the boards could not be slotted in place, since the nut and bearing would contact the joist underneath the decking.A better choice is probably this upper bearing slotting bit, since it can cut without interference:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KGJWCVW/

So I have ordered and replaced 2, so received a total of 3. All of them are missing the 1/4" shank as listing states is included, so unable to use.

I bought this for cutting slots for installing fiberglass screen with splines. I used 0.190 splines with great success. Recommended using a router table as this thing is a beast. Also since I retrofit old construction on this project I ended up slotting through tons of staples and a few screws. Those definitely created some wear but it still cuts great

Excellent. Worked beautifully to create a groove/slot on the Trex and Dekorator deck boards. Had to align the slots to the depth of the router and then just worked without issues. This is my first time using a router so I had one side slide off but then once I got hang of it was easy to cut thru rest of the boards without any issue. Even tried to use it with a Trex hidden fastener clip with a pre-grooved board next to it and they were level just like a factory joint!Really happy with the product - only would recommend a lower price if possible. But quality of the slot cutter is excellent. Surely recommend!!

Doweling takes forever, so I decided to try biscuits. But I didn’t want to pay $150 for a plate joiner. Then I saw an ad on Instagram for a router bit similar to this one and decided to try it (except this bit has 3 blades rather than 2) I’m so glad I tried it, it’s amazing! I cut 120 slots in pine boards in about 15 minutes, and the blade felt as sharp and efficient at the end as it did when I started. I’ve never used a plate joiner, but I can’t imagine it being any faster than this thing. Highly satisfied with this product.

I wanted to make slots to use biscuits for joints using my hand held router. This bit is a much cheaper route and worked great on my projects. I debated for a long time between this and the actual power tool specifically for making biscuit joints. After seeing the prices on those biscuit joint machines, I saved hundreds by buying this jig which was way cheaper and worked flawlessly!

I was very skeptical about using a slot cutter instead of an actual biscuit jointer. Honestly, I have been consistently impressed by this product. It works like a charm! Nice clean cuts that are easy to replicate for perfect jointing. If you do woodworking for a living, its probably worth getting an actual biscuit jointer. For the rest of us hobbyist/part time woodworkers, this does the job with excellent results.
