The toilet in my apartment is not the best and will stop up easily. I've tried pretty much every plunger on the market with not the best of luck. This snake has been the best purchase. Compressed air, normal plunger, high dollar plunger. None work as good and as easy as this snake does. Easy to clean and easy to store in plastic bag in utility closet. You'll never purchase another plunger after purchasing this toilet snake.

Got the 2 week clogged toilet flushing like it should. What ever unworldly thing that was down there is no longer a problem. Have no idea how any human could create such a monster. Seen reviews concerning the sturdiness but it seems fine for home use. Some reviews have said the handle broke or it got kinked while using but that is probably due to misuse. The idea is to pull back and forth with slight force to get through the clog and around drain bends. You can also turn the handle gently back and forth to help get through the clog and bends, but don't over do it or you have a chance of it kinking in the drain. I would not buy this for commercial use, but works just fine for the occasional clog at home that will just not plunge.

Long story short I was an idiot and flushed a good 20 or 30 qtips down the toilet because I was too lazy to clean them up after spilling. Tried various things over the course of a week to unclog like the plunger, chemicals, hot water, home remedies etc nothing worked and I figured I'd try this. Took 5 minutes and cleared the clog. Definitely a good buy and no need for a plumber to charge me $300!

Does the necessary unplugging of a toilet far better than using a plunger. It will be my go to piece of equipment for this job in the future. Very sturdy for the price.

I've been struggling with the toilet intermittently not flushing through for months. Before I called a plumber, I thought I'd try this reasonably priced 3 ft. snake. Why not, for $6 it'd be a LOT cheaper than a plumber call. Besides, I saw a young lady on the internet use it, and it looked very easy. Yep.First thing is SAFETY. If there's any STUFF in the toilet, it'll definitely get on the snake/tube, so wear your PPE -- Safety glasses or goggles, rubber gloves, and old clothes. I also recommend removing rugs, etc. from the bathroom. Have a large trash can, or something similar, to put this snake into once you're done...that way you can carry it outside for cleaning without dripping all over the house. Also, if you've already tried a chemical drain cleaner inside the toilet water, DO NOT USE THIS SNAKE -- call a professional plumber, because those drain cleaners can cause severe burns and other health problems. Please let the plumber know what you put in the toilet before she/he starts working, and keep the bathroom fan ON all the time.To start, pull the cable back until the "working end" of the snake touches the plastic tube. Then place the 90 degree plastic tube inside the water, so the tube protects the porcelain. Now, keeping the plastic tube from moving in/out of the bowl, start gently cranking the handle in a clockwise motion. You can feel the head of the snake moving around, and with a little finesse, and occasionally pulling back-and-forth on the plastic tube about an inch, the snake head will start to make it's way into the toilet. Once I got the handle all the way to the end of the plastic tube, I gently backed the handle out (again keeping the plastic tube from moving), but this time without cranking, to see if the snake head could dislodge anything in it's path. If it catches up on anything, just rotate the handle counter-clockwise and it'll come free. When done, back the handle all the way until you feel the snake head stop at the submerged end of the plastic tube, and then pull the tube out of the bowl.Hopefully by now the clog is broken free. If not, the clog is further down the piping, and you'll need to go farther than 3 feet. There are longer snakes available, but the price starts to get close to what you'd pay a plumber to do the job. BTW, for me the clog is down in the pipes, so I'm going to call a professional. Yay.

Funny story kind of, So anybody ordering something like this is either having a problem or expecting one. In my case the problem had already occurred. Plunging made it worse. Most chemicals don't recommend use in toilets so I tried the granules that were made for toilets. Followed the directions perfectly and waited overnight. No good This thing was clogged, even my $260 power auger wouldn't work because it wouldn't make the bend in the toilet and I could tell that the clogged was in the toilet not the pipe. I ordered this tool and closed the door so nobody would use it and shut the water off to the camodeGuaranteed to be here by Sunday, Sunday came and went and no tool. Monday at 3pm I decided to go to the hardware store and buy one. Bite the bullet. Lowes had 2, 1 for 24.00 lite duty and the other 50.00. I decided that this was a big clogged so better get the professional grade. By the time I returned home my auger had arrived in the mail. But I was pissed off and vowed to send it back. Besides I had a professional grade auger now. Upon reading the directions and watching a couple of videos I proceeded to wind the auger into the toilet and about 1/2 way in it stopped, wouldn't go any further and wouldn't come out. Now I'm really pissed off. I finally got it out and it had broken the auger off of the handle by turning it forward and backward to get it out. It had a big clump of you know what on the end but now it was broken and unusable. I hesitate pulled out the Cobra product and tried again. This time it made all of the bends easily and I could tell when it hit the clogged. I just kept turning the auger and in about 2 minutes it was through and the water went down Amazing! It wasn't completely cleared but after pulling it out and reinserting it several times and continuously turning the handle it now is perfect . After the snowstorm that we're expecting tonight the pieces of the 50 dollar piece of junk is going back. This is now a good addition to my home tool collection and the price is right.
