This is a BIG knife. Very large, quite heavy and is usable as a general camp knife as it comes very sharp. Wrap the handle in paracord and you are good to go. Carbon steel makes it very tough and it throws well, although I would not call this a beginner's knife if you are new to knife throwing. Its big enough to do serious damage if it rebounds on you and you are too close to the target. You will never get a better big Bowie knife and a thrower for this price. Deal of the century.

These are great for learners, and well balanced knives. The edges on the handle are rounded enough that they are not cutting into the hand. I still used a grinder to round them off slightly more for a bit more comfortable for, but as they came was still very usable.I'm just learning thrown weapons, and these have been the perfect starter set.

I didn't buy this knife to throw, but instead to wrap the handle and use as a camp knife. It is an absolute unit. Batoning, carving, cutting meat, it does it all. And for a fraction of the cost of some big bowie knives out there. I wanted something that was sturdy enough to beat, but cheap enough that if it breaks I won't care. This is that knife.

Sehr gutes großes Wurfmesser. Für meinen Geschmack, obwohl ich alle Cold Steel Wurfmesser sehr gut finde, ein bisschen zu scharf. Das muss sich erst mal abnutzen und dann schärfe ich nur noch die Spitze.

When I got this thing in the mail I was like, dang! Thats a big dad gum knife! And it is big... and sharp! Gonna be a good camp knife besides a thrower! I'm a little worried about the tip, as its thinner than my other smaller throwing knives... looks like it could break... but time will tell. I'm not that great of a thrower (no spin), and my "Mexican Sideways" technique can really be brutal on a knife point... but so far so good. Very powerful thrower, good accuracy, well balanced, the knife just places itself where you want it to go. It's just about split a 3/8" piece of plywood in half. Powerful. Fun to throw. If I don't update this review, assume its holding up well. And I throw a good bit.

Super heavy, which I like. The balance is nice. Sharp but durable. If used for target practice you will dull them quick. I use these ones specifically for hunting rabbits. All cold steel throwers are adequate though.

This is the best knife ever. I learned to throw with these knives from Jack Dagger at a conference. I plan to collect a set of eight.
