Very similar to the Axe Gang Hatchet (which I have), bought 2 years ago last week and still enjoy it. Sticks very well into the target.

Crazy fun to throw! I got bored throwing at a single rotation distance...now I'm accurate at 2 and 3 rotation distances. Handle and head have held up to tons of abuse and it still works great! Gotta buy a couple more!

It took a good long while to get here and when delivered the box had been resealed..or looked that way and inside the axe was pretty much bouncing around loose...the rubber guard on the blade was pierced top and bottom and the only padding was a piece of brown kraft paper sort of wadded up but not particularly well placed..WTF...no reason for this except pure laziness. The Axe looks okay..a few scuffs on the wood but that protector on the blade is now useless...worst Amazon packaging job so far and I have had many...rant over..it's a throwing ax and as such will get more scuffs..but if I had wanted to buy a used one..Ebay!!!

So this axe is really good quality and I am using it as my clutch axe. The weight is top heavy but has a good balance and doesn't require much force to get it in the wood. I did cut the handle as for me I found it too long ( I am 5'6") The width of the handle is perfect and has a nice finish. The blade was easy to sharpen. It came with a rubber covering, I wish it came with a more sturdy cover for the blade. But overall satisfied with my purchase. Side note: it doesn't come with the sticker. I put it on there to find my axe easy in a line up.

I just got into axe throwing last week at the bar. I really enjoyed it so I built a target and bought this axe. It is very sharp and accurate right out of the box.My first 3 throws were all bulls eyes...at about 13'...I'm dead serious. Of course, this is compared to a Kobalt camping hatchet...but it is still a "point and shoot" axe...if you're steady, it will hit what you are staring at.I guess I could be one bounce away from a broken handle, but oh well...the things are relatively cheap...my other addiction is mtn bikes...compared to that ludicrously expensive nonsense, axe throwing is practically free.

I bought this axe after joining an axe throwing league and realizing I was the only person using a borrowed hatchet. I asked around to see what everyone else was throwing, and most people had a cold steel.I picked the competition thrower. I wanted something that was ready to throw straight out of the box and I didn't want to mess around with cutting down the handle of the axe gang. The blade is nice and thin, so it sticks well. I have also had no trouble with the handle. I'd only gone to throw axes twice before I started using this, so it's taken a beating and hit the floor many times. It has a few little nicks in the blade, but nothing major and the handle is still in one piece. No issued here with durability.I will say it's a bit heavier than the axe I'd borrowed. It took awhile getting used to the weight of it, but after some practice it wasn't an issue. I usually throw two handed. But I've been trying a one-handed throw and I will say with the length and weight of this axe, it does feel a little unwieldy in one hand.I'm used to this axe with the handle as it is, so I don't want to mess with it. But I'm tempted to pick up an axe gang and try cutting the handle to experiment with different handle lengths.Over all, great axe. It's sturdy and throws well, and I'd definitely recommend it

This axe is a pretty sturdy axe that throws nicely. Upon some intensive testing, we did find that the handle may be starting to crack but that is after deliberate and repeated attempts to throw it incorrectly to find out how durable it really is. Overall very happy with this axe for beginner throwers and we even ordered more.

Realistically, 30-40 throws to get the rotation and spacing from target down. Yeah there were a lot of handle first strikes. Then probably 400-500 throws dead on target. 100 throws in, the handle split the long way. Repaired with wood glue. 100 more throws and it slit again. Repaired with more wood glue and wrapped in gutted 550 cord. A few hundred more throws and the axe handle snapped at the head as pictured. These were bad throws. When the handle snapped, the axe’s sharpened edge was 1” in the tree and the handle was straight up and down.Blade is in great shape but handle is garbage. Given I have only had this axe for a few days so I can’t really say how the blade will hold up to continuously being used, but it definitely isn’t super high quality.

I was told by a few people that the handle isn't very sturdy. After one night of throwing my handle hit the board and a piece of the handle flew off.I was prepared with some hockey tape to keep it together but other than that the axe is fantastic. It sticks in the board very well it's easy to control.

Cold steel axes, (either the Axe Gang or the new competition model) are great for throwers who do not over rotate when they throw. Any Axe handle can break but I have been throwing mine almost daily at home and at Urban Axes without issue since I got it. In fact, I have thrown a Cold steel Axe throughout this past NATF league season 3 (Tuesday and Wednesday nights) and have had no problems. About half of the 24 players in past 2 sessions use the Cold Steel axes and no one has had any issues either. In total I have 5 of these axes of varying handle lengths 13 1/4" - 17" each one has performed well. There are 3 rule to axe throwing, 1. Don't be stupid 2. Drink More. 3. Just throw better.

Like the slim blade profile. Needs to be sharpened. My handle developed a slight crack near the head after some rough use, but nothing a bit of wood glue couldn’t fix. Works great for one handed throwing. Not very heavy but sinks well. Well worth the money.

The axe is great for competitive axe throwing. Well balanced, meets regulations, throws well. I would give it 5 stars but the first time the axe bounced off the boards instead of sticking, the bottom of the handle cracked and chipped. I'm not sure if I'd buy one again as the are many options around this price range.
