Pay attention, please!

Question 1: Why the base of these bowls seems unglazed and it's a bit rough on countertops and tables?

Answer 1: Based on production principles, the bottom of the bowl cannot be glazed. Once glazed, it will stick to the silicon plate during the firing process and cannot be taken out. Evan if it was taken out, the bottom of the bowl will be damaged and the product will be unusable.

This is a unique phenomenon of ceramic tableware. If other bowls or plates do not have these rough parts on the bottom, although they look beautiful, they are not perfect in terms of use. Here’s why:

A To prevent slipping. Made into a rough state, which increases the friction between the bowl and the tabletop, keeping it stable on the tabletop and not falling easily.

B To prevent scalding. Once the bottom is smooth, it needs to be made thinner. If it is made thinner, when hot water is added to the soup, It will not be able to prevent scalding and may burn our hands or the tablecloth on the table.

Therefore, after production, before packing, we will perform special treatment to keep the bottom of the bowl as smooth as possible and not damage your table or tablecloth. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Question 2: Why we give these bowls different pattern?

Answer 2: Inspired by ancient Chinese sfumato dyeing and the "old-fashioned" style of American homes in the 19th century, we specially designed an alternating dark and light dyeing process for this set of porcelain bowls. We hope that they can show the faint traces of time without losing the high-end, rich texture. Nostalgic yet sophisticated. We believe that this style can present a more natural and simple retro tone. Such special traces are more like a unique symbol of life, thus showing a pastoral retro American beauty.

There is a decoration style now called "Shabby Chic".
