Columbia makes some really well crafted outerwear and this particular coat is a good example of that. The Columbia 'interchange' system gives you multiple options for the type of weather you might face. I like that the hood is removeable (Velcro & zipper attachments). You can wear the the shell and fleece liner together or separate the two and wear individually, depending on outside conditions. The shell is waterproof and makes for a great raincoat. The fleece liner is great for those early fall days/nights when you just want something to keep the chill off. My only complaint with this system is that the inner sleeves of the fleece liner are also the same fleece material and it does make it a little harder to slip your arms into/out of. As I've done on one of my previous 'interchange' jackets, I will most likely have a seamstress sew on some thin nylon material to the insides of the sleeves of the fleece to fix this one issue. Otherwise a well constructed, very useful garment. Note that these can be on the pricey side (saw these retail for $240), but some careful Amazon shopping will typically net you a great deal (my cost for this was $115!)

I had a Columbia for 8 years until the zipper didn't work consistently so I thought it was a good value and wanted another one. I really didn't believe getting a coat online would work for me, but it was the end of winter and the price was right so I decided to give it a try.I am 6'2" and 197 lbs so I ordered the XLT. It fit me perfectly. The exterior fabric is stain and water repellent. The gray fleece is very warm and can be removed if just using as a rain jacket. The hood is even better than my last Columbia ski jacket and with 3 outside pockets and 2 inside ones, they have a lot of versatility. Now there are several negative remarks about the fleece sleeve riding up past the end of the exterior shell. Sometimes it does, but there is a button on the inside of the sleeve that holds it in place somewhat. If it comes out too far when I'm wearing a heavy long sleeve shirt, I just pull it back in and adjust the velcro on the shell. It is not a negative to me. As long as the fleece doesn't roll up my arm (and it doesn't), I consider it a plus by keeping my wrists warmer.Overall, I absolutely enjoy the jacket from a comfort, style, functionality and value perspective. If I was in the store, I would buy it in a minute.

This is a decent piece(s) of all-weather gear. All the zippers function smoothly on mine, including the ones that connect the liner to the shell. Nice, precise seams, and fit as expected. The numerous features and adjustments remind me of a well designed tent or camping backpack. Both the shell and liner have a total of 4 practical pockets each that I've seen, and are very gloved-hand-friendly, and any of them will take my largest phone with a bulky case. The jacket is louder than canvas to wear, but quieter than nylon. The reflective inner side of the liner seems to be tougher than it looks, as the cat decided to climb up it. A couple tugs, and the fibers all went right back in order. Feels softer than you'd think, too.It has shrugged off hours of drizzle/light rain, and importantly, night time dew, which can reduce your clothing's effective insulation more then you expect. I haven't yet tried it in heavy rain, but perhaps I'll update later on how it fares.A few things to take note of:This isn't a winter coat. Don't count on it to keep you warm in freezing weather without help. I ended up separating the liner and wearing a whole other jacket under the shell.(December nights were brutal)There's a little strap on the back of the hood. You'll want to adjust that to keep the hood from hanging too far over your head and blocking your sight, but far enough that it keep the rain off your face. The hood really isn't insulated, so if you're losing too much heat, wear a something like a balaclava under the hood. Really comfortable combo.

I'm a tall, Rubinesque woman. The jacket is long in the sleeves and body. The only critique is that the jacket zipper is flimsy where the rest of the jacket is very sturdy. I love that it is truly an all weather jacket for the west coast in winter.

Great jacket, sleeves were a bit long but folding them back was fine.Sadly the wrong order was sent and i got the grey coloured inner fleece and not the red/black tartan pattern.

I've had a columbia raincoat for the last 5 years that was a hand-me-down, simple black waterproof jacket. It was my daily - brought it on travels overseas, trips, brisk nights in the summer or just general rainy days. The jacket has seen better days as the black began to finally kind of "fade", the jacket was in prior use before this so felt it was time to retire it as a "trunk/extra" jacket in my car for a friend/family member if needed on the side. What I love about Columbia's though is they are such sleek and lightweight jackets that are so warm and versatile for any season -- this jacket will definitely serve the same purpose.I did some searching into other Columbia jackets, and found this gem. For the price, I went for it considering it came with the inner-zipper fleece which you can remove/keep combo with the jacket/or wear separately. I admittedly will not be using the fleece much - but I am absolutely in love with this jacket. It's sleek, stylish and overall it just wears/feels amazing. I've already gotten a few compliments not even having it for a day, definitely lives up so far to the Columbia type quality. I'm looking forward to have this jacket for many years to come.
