We haven't experienced a gas as of yet, thank goodness. We have tried it out several times, each time there were no abnormalities detected. I feel better just having it around

Works as it should. You can set limits fort the audible alarm which is a nice touch, The detector charges via a USB port to an internal battery that is non removable. The only gripe I really have about this thing is that the green light makes it hard to see the readings unless you have the thing held at a perfect angle. When the light is off it is easy enough to read though given there is any light around of course. The neck also bends so you can wrap it behind water heaters or anything similar if you are looking for a leak. Overall not a bad little unit.

You know on the news how you hear about a house that blows up every now and again? I don't want to be one of those houses! lol. I tested this with our outdoor grill to see if it could detect propane and it did! Yay!!!Will it stand the test of time? No way to know for sure, but so far I'm very happy. Don't eat beans around this thing as it may detect you lol.5 out of 5 stars.

It is always nice to be able to purchase a product that does what it promises!As with any safety device, you hope you never need it but will be glad if you do.If your house has natural gas or propane, one of these is a must. It came with wand, sturdy metal flexible probe, instructions, USB charging cable and block.I fully charged tester with provided cable. When you turn it on, it does a countdown/calibration. Once that is done, you are ready to test. The screen displays temperature, battery level and PPM detection number. It dims to save battery but lights up to a bright and easy to read display if you tap the start button.I first tested for butane. I released a short spray into my small bathroom and watched. The counter immediately began to rise, even though I couldn't smell a thing. After a few seconds, the numbers went back down to zero. I again sprayed a bit more into the room a second time. This time, the counter numbers rose, and the display went from green to yellow, then red, then loud alarm. I was able to "follow" the gas pocket up to the ceiling where it was accumulating. When I turned on the ceiling fan, the numbers began to fall, and the color returned to green.My next test was propane. I took a propane torch and released some gas into the bathroom again. The detector did exactly the same thing! Numbers increased; the screen color changed to "warning" red. Alarm sounded. When I vented the room, the numbers immediately fell. I was sold!The best part came when my friend said she had been using way much more propane than normal at her house. I stopped by and traced the gas line with the tool. It immediately detected a leak at the connector, and I found a worn-out washer was leaking. This was outside, so she only lost gas, but if it was an inside leak, it could have ended badly.I would recommend purchasing one of these right away.

I have been installing gas lines for years and have never owned one of these. I have always used a spray and visual looked for bubbles. I added this to the tool box, and find myself using it way more than expected. I still use the soap solution to visually test first, then walk with this along the entire line. This is extremely handy if you believe you have an underground leak - dig a small hole and insert it in the ground. It is sensitive enough to identify anything that could be seeping through the rocks - if you are close enough to the suspected leak area.When you first turn this on, it will calibrate and count to zero. Be sure you do this outside - or an area where you know there cannot be a gas leak.If you have a dangerous leak, the beeping and vibration function will change with the higher units detected.It has a back light, and a rechargeable battery. It appears to be durable enough for a long term tool in the box. I do recommend a case, since it is sensitive.

This product is a combustible gas leak detector which can detect the presence of combustible gas like butane or natural gas in household gas range.It works as advertised and expected, the sensor sensitivity is good enough, where it can detect the natural gas if I turn on the gas range but not ignite it.The screen will flash red and has a buzzer beeping sound when it detects the presence of combustible gas.There is a bendable goose neck, and it even has a mini flashlight to illuminate the area you want to check, the goose neck allows the detector to put closer to the area you want to check in tight space like between gas water heater.It does come with a USB-C cable and a mini charger adapter.It's a nice tool to have at home whenever you want to check any gas leaking or suspect there is gas leaking.

For many people this is not an item you would buy. But for home owners or people with gas lines running to outbuildings this is an item you should have. I had a gas leak on my side of the gas meter that because of the outside location was not all that detectable even though natural gas with the Mercaptan smell additive did not readily give it away. This gas detector can pick things like that up and then save you money over time on your gas bill. Plus it is a common sense safety item to have in your tool box to occasionally check all your fittings along your gas lines again for miniscule gas leaks both for safety reasons but also lost money reasons too as mentioned. If you are hooking up a new gas appliance then again this is what you want to test your connections for leaks. The detector itself is very simple to use and has an excellent backlight digital display along with audible alarm feature. The 3 color display system is an outstanding visual detection system of green, yellow, danger red. The gooseneck sensor head also helps makes this an extremely easy and versatile detector to use and reach hard to get to places.
