Bent after about 10 minutes on the lower end speed of my die grinder…Cut it shorter now so we’ll see if it works at about 4 inches.Not worth the price.

This 'special' longer mandrel has been necessary for every porting job I've ever done; it's weird that it's never in the kit, always an extra purchase.Just like the shorter mandrel, it holds buffs or cartridge rolls, and it gets you into places you can't reach otherwise. I usually cut some of the pilot end off, so it doesn't stick out past the roll.

1/2 a second in my die grinder and it twisted and bent. Very soft metal. I understand maybe it didn’t like the rpm of my grinder, but the grinder itself isn’t anything fancy, and every other bit I have bought (many of them are off shore) have stood up to this die grinder. So maybe if you put it in something slower, you’ll have success, but the fact it didn’t work out in an average joes die grinder is not only sad, but dangerous. And for the record, this bent without even touching anything or with a cartridge on it. I put it in the grinder, flicked the on switch to see how this thing spun and it instantly turned into a noodle.

Works great but DONOT USE IT WITH ELECTRIC DIE GRINDER. They are two long and will bend almost immediately if you spin it at too high of a speed. This is not a fault of the Mandrel just a fact of physics. I will work well in a air powered die grinder as long as you are not spinning it too fast.Four stars Just priced too high for what it is

Don't spin this thing too fast because it bends really fast when you do that. I had to buy another one after I made that mistake. It works great otherwise

I use and abuse these mandrels porting and polishing intake and exhaust ports in heads and intake manifolds and this one has held up better than most havent broke the tip off my first one yet!
