OK I ordered this on a whim after having to do a bunch of math and counting on aida. So, I didn't examine the listing closely and assumed I was looking at something that was about six inches long. But no! It's more like 14 inches long. Doesn't even fit in my floss cabinet. Will I ever use it? Maybe. The floss conversion chart is neat, but seven years out of date. Made of sturdy material, it will likely last for all time. They'll be picking it out of garbage dumps after the apocalypse so that crafting may go on.

The ruler arrived intact and on time. I have another brand ruler gauge and have used it constantly for many years. I purchased this ruler for a friend and it looks easy to use and it has 12 stitch counts. It also has a conversion chart for DMC, J&P Coats, and Anchor flosses. It is flexible and could be used to measure around curves, too. After this item arrived, I decided to buy another one soon, to use for myself.

I think we all have those times... Where it seems like everything we order on Amazon either isn't as described or otherwise doesn't meet our expectations.... Or the item is "just okay"... usable for whatever purpose but nothing to brag about. That's been my recent experience with Amazon over all so today, when I opened up the packaging and removed this I was very pleasantly surprised. I love that it includes a conversion chart for different brands of floss, and the ruler itself is thick enough to be sturdy yet still flexible. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think it would be useful if each of the rulers can be separated from the other. Maybe use a different type of fastener that allows that.

I have been looking for an item like this for years. Love that it has all the count sizes. And an additional item that was included was a floss chart showing DMC, J&P COATS AND ANCHOR interchangeable numbers of floss. They also included a card with additional information about what needle size to use for the gauge of the material along with other information. This gauge is worth every penny. This would make a wonderful gift. Love it, thank you Cottage Mills job well done.

I didn’t even realize these were out there. The counter has made a world of difference when I’m working on counted cross stitch patterns. It’s definitely taken away a lot of stress!!It’s well made, nice thickness and there’s a second piece showing color conversions. It was a great purchase!!

Wavy markings on gauge/ruler make it easier to count stitches. Other gauges just had marks of equal length. With this one I can see which is 7 on 14 count Aida.

This handy gauge is perfect for a quick method of identifying the stitch count of a piece of cross stitch fabric that is in your stash but not in its original package! Yes, most of us have a lot of those. Great buy

Purchased for helping me grid my Aida fabric for cross-stitching. It is confusing, bulky, and quite flimsy. It is too long to fit in my cross-stitch organizers (both a box and a large bag!) There were two different purchase options for these...and I went with this one, even though it was more costly. It had better reviews, included a thread color conversion tool—and many amazon customers had raved about it. Maybe it is due to my inexperience, But this didn’t match up at all correctly with my Aida cloth. I’m more confused after purchasing this than I was counting and gridding manually. If I can get it figured out, I’ll update this review appropriately.

I've had other stitch counters in the past, but they tend not to be very durable and will measure 4 counts. This is very sturdy and measures 12 different counts, because the people who designed it put some thought into it and realized you don't have to provide both an 11 count and a 22 count measurement thanks to multiplication. I also appreciated the quick referenced guide to convert DMC colors to Anchor or Coats. Very satisfied!
