I got this hoping it would be a good alternative to the verry expensive automatic strapping tools.I had not used a strapping tool prior to this but after watching the video in the listing and examining the tool It was easy to use able to ratchet down the straps quite tightly.as for the straps theme selves they hold up well in my testing as long as the strap did not run over a tight corner without an edge protector, I never had the strapping fail, in other words the point of failure was not the strap but instead the metal crimp seals. I found that I would have issues with the crimps slipping off when I pulled on the strapping, at some point I decided to try doubling up on the strap crimps and that seems to have fixed the issue.Overall this seems like a good budget friendly alternative to getting a handheld auto strapping machine, but I would defiantly advise doubling up on the crimps for heavier strapping jobs.

Works great but watch a YouTube video on how to use it. Instructions aren’t very good.

This is a solid strapping kit with all you need to get started strapping a pallet or even a box really. They don't include a huge amount of strapping (they advertise 3200" which is only about 267ft) in the kit, so if you are doing pallets you will run out pretty quickly. You get standard duty tools which are pretty universal in terms of design and functionality. There are "deluxe" manual strapping tools that may give more leverage and/or are a bit easier to use, but these ones work fine and will last. The corner protectors are a nice addition as they can be important at times, but they are pretty small so depending on how tight you are strapping they aren't going to be doing much. They probably would work ok on pallets of wood/plywood/drywall but not a big enough footprint to spread the load to protect pallets of boxes.

This is a great starter kit. It provides all the equipment and materials needed. This has a very rugged ratchet tensioner tool & sealer tool. It works great and ample supplies are provided. The instructions are written in Chinese, and I'm not fluent. I had to watch the video on Amazon to figure out how to operate the components. I missed that these were 5/8" strap, so they are stiffer and stronger that what really needed for the job. It is easy enough to use, solid tools. Also, it is easy to use the straps as handles for easier moving of box. The edge protectors are rather thin so it's easy to over tension and crumple the box. This uses banding strap that's very durable but also easy to intentionally cut, paired with metal banding clasps which will not be the weak point of the banding. The tensioner and sealing pliers are solid and feel industrial, they'll probably last forever sitting in shipping and receiving. The banding says it's rated for strong pulling tension, and that's kind of insane if true. I wouldn't band anything that tight, even with the included corner protectors, but it's good to know that the banding won't come undone if the parcel gets hit with enough force to destroy most things, I will band with this. The replacement banding and seals are reasonably priced, as are the corner protectors. Overall, it works well.

Functionally works but the thickness of the base plate and distance to the tightening mechanisms to far from product to actually make a tight strap

The tightness and crimper work well, but if too tight, the crimps cut the banding when installing. I'm using on wood slabs ends cut from my sawmill to control splitting, so really cranking down on the banding.
