I was originally going to give this product three stars, but I took a star off because C1 did not publish my three-star review on their website. I think they are preventing negative reviews from being published on their website to make their cases look like they are more highly rated than they are. So they get another star removed for not being transparent. Below is a similar review that I attempted to post on their website. I cannot repost my original review because I did not write it down anywhere besides their website:This case is so close to being a contender with Pelican and Nanuk. The plastic thickness is substantial, the build feels hefty, the pull-n-pluck foam is great quality, and the gasket seems to be a good design. Unfortunately, the latch is simply abysmal. All it takes is a gentle tug for it eagerly unlatch. It says in the product description: “EASY-CLOSE LATCHES - Your Condition 1 protective case has patented spring-loaded latches: Simply press the button and the latch snaps shut securely.” While the first part is true, the latter is false. The latches do indeed snap closed easily. However they come unlatched as easy as they latch. I have no confidence that it would be held shut during a hard tumble, or if literally anything happened to touch, tug, or catch on the latch. It seems that whoever designed the latch mechanism had a solution in search of a problem. Apparently, they thought that it was a bad thing that many other cases have a hard-to-open latch and sought to make a design that would be easier to open. This is a silly approach. I don’t mean any offence to the engineer(s) who probably spent hours designing and prototyping this mechanism, but it does not make any sense to have a latch that is easy to open on a case like this. The point of the latch on a hard case is NOT that it would be easy to open, but that it would keep the case always CLOSED. I frankly don’t care if a latch is difficult to open as long as it stays shut and keeps my valuables safe. It's a shame too, because as already noted, the design and build of this case is awesome. C1 needs to go back to the drawing board on their latch before they can be considered a serious contender to Nanuk or Pelican. They also need to publish ALL reviews on their website. They have lost my business and my trust.

This is a really well-made and watertight case for small firearms, cameras and anything else you might want to protect. I'd say it definitely compares quite well to Pelican and other similar cases. The exterior is sturdy for a case like this. It won't stop a drill bit, a saw or a bullet, but as the advertising shows, you can definitely run it over with your car. The hinges and seals all aligned perfectly on mine, and the fit is very secure when closed. There's room for various types of locks if you choose to beef up the security.Inside, there's the typical pluck to fit foam that lets you create exactly the size and shape cutouts you'll want. I usually position the object I want in the case and draw around it with a Sharpie, and then a combination of plucking and careful cutting gets me the shape I need...it's drudgery, but no worse than any other type of case I've had.As for the water-tightness, I ran a simple test to determine whether I should trust any of my valuable equipment to the case. With the foam replaced by a few bricks and a ball of tissue paper (it decomposes quickly if it gets wet), I sealed the case and dropped it into a body of saltwater about 15 feet deep. After 24 hours, I pulled it up, rinsed it off with a power washer, and opened it up. Not a drop of water inside - definitely passed the test.My only gripe is that it's slightly small, depending on what you're trying to hold. It will fit two subcompacts, or possibly a subcompact and a full-size weapon, but I couldn't find a position that would quite hold two full-sized firearms without risking the weapons having barely any padding between them. At the same time, it's deep, but not quite deep enough for my larger handguns - making for a boxy design without a ton of room. The good news is that the case comes in a variety of colors and sizes if you don't like this one.Overall, unless you spend significantly more for a high-end case, this is a great low-cost alternative to Pelican, Plano and similar brands. I'd definitely recommend it as solid protection for your gear.

A budget alternative to Pelican and Seahorse cases; Has some clear differences in build specs, as in most things that are cheaper. Not as ridgid or "square" in internal dimensions, but if you are using foam padding you will probably not have issues.

This Condition 1 case is top of the line and in my opinion better than the Pelican due to the latching system. I took one star off since the first case they sent me was empty, it didn’t contain the pluck foam insert.

This is one tough case! Built like a tank and the pluck foam inside is very easy to customize for whatever you want to store.I have my pistols set in the foam upright with nose and bottom of mag resting on the bottom. Great size!

Pelican's are just way overpriced. Ever since I found Condition 1, I've never looked back. Sure, pelican's plastic is juuuuuuust a little bit beefier but not by so much it's worth the extra expense in my opinion. Never had an issue with Condition 1 so far.
