Got this set to put together with my insect-obsessed nephew. He’s five, and the wood pieces weren’t great at going together and staying interlocked, most of the time I could adjust it but we did end up using glue in a few spots to keep it together. They are sizable insects when finished, and the painting was fun for him. So overall a great kit, as long as an adult can help out the younger kiddos.

These are really cute art sets. My daughter enjoyed the butterfly & ant but was disappointed that the wooden pieces don’t fit together well in all slots.This is mostly due to the balance of weight & was easily resolved with a little (precision) application of wood glue.

I waited until school was out and the first "I'm bored" to pull out this model/paint kit. It certainly got the interest of our 6 year old grandson. He would not have been able to assemble it on his own, but with help he had fun doing so. His age also required close monitoring for the painting process. There were some of the wooden pieces that didn't fit together as tightly as others. Once put together, we did use a bit of glue to make sure they stayed secured before painting. A fun project and activity at a nice price.

I got this set to tuck away for a Christmas present. I like that it can give a child multiple things to do. They can paint the project and then build the project. It will give them plenty to do. I remember that many times on Christmas Day that after the presents are opened and dinner eaten, there can be a long boring afternoon and evening with nothing to do. This type of gift can keep a child entertained while also improving on their skills. One of the reasons that my favorite present was a new book to read.I appreciate getting this kit to try out. My little people (age 3 and 5) really enjoyed this painting/building craft. It does have a ton of pieces, so be sure you have ample time to paint. My kiddos really liked being able to build their bugs. The pieces do fit nicely, but we added glue to make them a bit more sturdy. The typical paint supplies are included and you get 2 brush sizes. We will be buying more of these for sure.
