I actually got this to help me scrub the cement board siding on my recently enclosed patio. Now that it's enclosed, it won't get as dirty from the dirt that used to accumulate due to the wind blowing dirt inside, but I wanted something with a bit more heft than my original solution, which was using sponges in a "wax on, wax off" movement. Since this is battery operated, it made quicker work than a corded solution due to the ability to move around freely without constantly worrying about the cord getting in the way of the movement...especially when I moved the ladder from place to place to finish the "top to bottom" work.I ended up buying a separate kit of sponges to use with this machine...they are readily available at auto part stores and on Amazon, so that was a relief as the sponges wore out due to my particular application. I don't see that being a problem on a vehicle unless they are being used on rough unpainted metal...even then it shouldn't be expected to wear in the same manner as it does when used on more abrasive cement board.The inclusion of a second battery is nice...it is a motorized tool so obviously it will drain fairly quickly depending on the orbital speed chosen. I will say that my arms gave out well before the battery, so I ended up just switching batteries back and forth between the tool and charger whenever I took a break to have a better chance of not ending up with two dead batteries. One thing that I was worried about given that it's a battery-operated tool was the possibility that the motor might strain with anything more than light pressure being used. I was able to use the level of pressure that I expected without any issue...the motor kept up and didn't hiccup at any point.I think this is a really good value for the money, and the convenience and ease of use for my particular application made it a solid choice.

This is a really nice unit and comes with a bunch of different pads, 2 batteries, microfiber towels, a pair of latex gloves and some sanding discs too. At first I couldn't tell if this is a dual action or a rotary. At setting 6, the claimed 5000 rpm is fast and I didn't see the head oscillate and spin. It appears to be a very short throw. However, at lower speed or when turning off, it becomes evident that this is a random orbital. Always good to know which type of tool you are using as there can be unintended negative consequences from incorrect use of one over the other. I also appreciate that there are 2 12v batteries included instead of just one, it's always nice to have the spare. These are easy to charge with the included wall wart that plugs directly into the connection port of the battery stems. The battery is a PITA to insert because there are 2ntabs that have to be squeezed together while slide the battery into the polisher. It's not a one-handed affair. Also, another reason to dock a star is the lack of tactile feedback when adjusting speeds. There is no tactile bump or click when settings are changed. Still appears to be a solid little unit.

This won't replace a full size buffer but it's great for doing parts, or smaller car, or just an area- or hey, take your time as batteries charge and stuff. It's a smaller pad size, but that also means you have better control. It came w/ lots of accessories. Nice deal here.

I was surprised at the number of accessories that came with this battery powered buffer. It has an assortment of pads, including super-fine grit polishers. They even throw in a pair of gloves and apron. With the two included batteries, there's no reason that you can't finish the entire project -- while using one, just keep the other on charge.I drive a lot and even though I attempt to keep my car clean, the front end takes a beating with bugs and asphalt. My entire car did not need polishing but I was anxious to try out the buffer so the front of my car seemed like the perfect test. Attached are two "Before" photos and two "After" photos.If you've not used a buffer before, take my advice and do not turn it on until the pad is in contact with the car or you will end up with polishing or compound all over you. The buffer worked as expected without requiring a lot of pressure, which is much better than doing the car by hand. Of course, the detailed areas, crooks, and crannies still require some manual labor, but you don't mind it so much when the rest of the job is relatively easy.This is a nice kit that will substantially save you time while keeping your ride sparkling!
