Non of the angle irons are square. Unfortunately the return window has just closed….and found out near the end of my project when things didn’t fit together as they were supposed to. Would not recommend for project that do require square to be true square.

They served their purpose for the one project I needed them for, but if you plan to use them often, you may want to look elsewhere. Each time when you loosen them to remove them, you have to pop the holding screw side since it binds and does not release. I guess when you tighten it, it cocks at an angle and jams so you have to tap it with a hammer to get it to release.

I am what I would classify as a beginner woodworker. I have a little bit of experience building things, and recently decided that I would renovate my pantry with some pull out shelves. I bought everything I needed and decided I would use these corner clamps to assist with building the pull out shelves, which are essentially drawers. These corner cramps helped my get a perfect 90° angle in all the corners or the boxes and helped hold everything in ace while I secured them with wood glue and nails. It made the whole process much easier. Again, I'm a beginner woodworker, so I'm not sure how these would work out for somebody who is more advanced in building more complicated things, but for my very basic and simple application these worked perfectly. They seem to be well made with a design that is easy to work with and understand without any instructions.

It seems there is an overabundance of plastic corner clamps like these, but I really don't like those because there is always a tiny bit of flex in them. Aluminum ones like these are extremely rigid and the amount of flex is negligible. I checked these for squareness using my machinists' square and they were very nearly perfect. Not 100% perfect perfect, but almost so. They're still usable, but I'll use one of my other two sets for glue-ups before I bust these out. They're still better than the plastic ones and the price is quite reasonable.

The quality of materials and finish seems quite good especially for the price, but sadly these squares lack the most important feature of a square: 90 degree corners. The easiest way to see how out of square they are is to line up all four and look at the gap that should not be there.

I was immediately impressed by the machining quality of this clamp set. The four clamping Ls are over ½” thick solid aluminum with nicely “softened” corners and a bright red anodized finish. An enlarged opening on the inside corner provides relief and visibility to help get workpieces correctly lined up. 13 holes are provided to give you options of where to place the clamping screws. I found the right-angle accuracy of the Ls to be equal to my best square. There are eight clamping assemblies consisting of a right-angle bolt, washer, knob/nut and block. The blocks are nicely machined and finished the same as the Ls. The parts fit together nicely and the knob/nuts spin easily on the clamp bolts. I cut 45-degree angles on two pieces of 3/4” wood for a test. The first thing I learned was that the clamping knobs need to be positioned on the outside of the frame you are assembling, otherwise the bolts and knobs interfere with one another. There is really no practical way to use the provided clamps with the Ls on the outside of your 90-degree assembly. The Ls are still very useful for clamping from the outside. You will just need to use C-clamps or another type of clamping device. The second problem I discovered has to do with the length of the non-threaded section of the right-angle clamping bolts. These extend about 3/4” further than the 1” long clamping blocks. This means it is next to impossible to clamp a piece of stock less than 1-3/4” thick laying flat on your workbench because the clamp bolt stands too tall. You can see the difficulty this causes as users struggle to get stock clamped in some of the video reviews of this product. You can make this work, but it would be a “three-handed” job. The solution is to cut off 3/4” of the right-angle section of the clamp bolt. Then everything will lay flat on your workbench and you can easily achieve perfect clamped alignment of your workpieces. Study my included photos to see how I shortened the bolts and achieved easy clamping of 3/4” stock laying flat on my workbench. With thicker stock or in box assembly there will be some instances where the longer clamp bolts may be useful, but keep in mind that the clamp block only extends 1” past the edge of your stock. If the L is not placed within that 1” directly on the other side of the stock, you will be pulling your parts diagonally and will likely not achieve the best alignment. Since you probably won’t be clamping all four Ls at once anyway, you can shorten half of the bolts to work flat on your workbench and keep the others full length for other clamping setups. I plan to add some additional sizes of L-bolts and some custom hardwood clamp blocks to my kit. A simple modification to shorten the bolts does not take away from the quality of the Hyberka product. As a bonus, a lightweight pair of work gloves is included with the kit. This is an excellent corner clamping kit.
