This is the second of two. The first would not start right away when the dial was turned. It had a pause of at least five to ten seconds. Then it would throw the stir bar at any RPM over 200. I sent it in for return.The second one starts right away, but the it still throws the stir bar at higher RPM. I am using the stir bar which came with the stir plate.I tested the exact same jar and stir bar on another stir plate (Maelstrom) and had no problems at all. The other stir plate handled max speed and had a huge amount of churn with no thrown bar.Not sure what I will do with this. I really expected more from "lab quality." I find it rather concerning that a stir plate from a homebrew store outperforms professional gear.
