I really enjoyed reading this Amish story. The book kept my interest all the way through. I was glad to see God in this Christian fiction novel and that God was given the glory.

This story is part of a series the author has written about an unprovoked killing in an Amish community. This book is about a daughter who witnessed this killing and her trauma as a result. Her healing runs with a horse in the barn of her home who has also experienced severe trauma. Both characters experience healing and change gradually and find new directions in their lives.

One of my favorite books this year with wonderful characters including a wounded horse, all of whom need love and understanding.Laurel Blount gives Reuben and Miriam heart wrenching backstories and wounds that had me hoping they would overcome their hardships and find love. A romance has to be a happily-ever-after, so you won't be disappointed with this story.Blount keeps the tension and relationship building going throughout the book. I liked how Blount had Reuben deal with his relationship with God along with his feelings for Miriam.I was cheering for these two love birds and the extended family in Johns Mill.

Loved the story line of this novel. More real to life than some Amish reads. Look forward to reading more from this author.

This is one of the best books I have read. Not any back and forth silliness. It was so good!

The characters could have used more detail to their emotions. The ending seemed rushed and could have been further developed. It was a tolerable read, but not one that I would read again nor recommend.

This may be Laurel Blount’s best one yet and that’s saying a lot! Watching two damaged people find their way to each other is an intricate dance that the author pulls off with immense skill and sensitivity
