There is nothing wrong with the kit. The problem is how the size is specified. These are called 3/4". O-rings are normally measured by their inside diameter (ID). The ID for these rings are 1". The ID my reel needed was 3/4". I looked at COX's web site and they do not say how the o-rings are specified but I suspect it is by "pipe" size. To fix my real I just went to the hardware store a purchased new o-rings and reused the white backer rings.
