Purchased for a white elephant exchange and couldn’t resist leafing through it and was pleasantly surprised by how sincere the book was. The crafts are mostly felting, have very clear instructions, and the layout of the book is very professional and easy to read. Plus it has pictures of the author’s kitties :) Totally recommended for anyone who loves cats.

In my research for ways to keep deer from eating the plants in my garden I found this adorable little book. I’d heard deer don’t like animal hair and since my two long haired cats shed prolifically I had plenty of raw material. Little cat figures will be a lot more attractive than gobs of hair sitting around so I’m going to give it a try. I’ll report back if I’m successful making them and if they actually work.

My sister-in-law has seven cats and is always complaining about the amount of hair they leave behind. This Christmas we got her this book as a joke...I had NO IDEA that it's an ACTUAL craft book! There are lovely crafts to do, with complete instructions and photos, great ideas on how to use the cat hair, and she's looking forward to actually doing some of the crafts! So, I guess the joke gift is a joke on me, because she LOVES it!

This book would make a super cute gag/joke gift (especially to someone with a cat). It basically teaches you to felt with your cat's fur. You need felting supplies already, so I wouldn't highly recommend it for someone who has no experience in felting, unless you are willing to go out and buy felting needles, and other supplies. Would be 5-stars if it came with the supplies needed (other than the cat fur of course)to at least do one project. Other than that, it does include super cute projects like fingerpuppets, tote bags, a portrait of your cat, and more.

I am not a cat fan at all. However, this book is so bloody cute. It creeps me out but it's so cute at the same time. If you are a cat lover and/or a crafter .... Man is this the book for you ! Didn't realize cat hair could be used to create things.Bought to feed my best friend's addiction to cats and crafts. She loves the book. And as much as I am not a fan of cats, I have to admit this is definitely a beautiful find.So go ahead and go collect that car hair ! Buy this book and Make a masterpiece sweetheart, I think the cat lover inside of you with definitely love every minute( Apologies, I took no photos before I gifted it. I will see if she can send me one with one of her completed crafts from it. I will edit this post at a later date )

To be fair, the author is completely sincere in her writing of this book, and it actually is full of lovely photos of the crafts you can make...if you can get over the fact you are really and truly collecting and crafting with cat hair. As an alleged cat lady myself, I thought this would be a funny book for my work White Elephant gift exchange, along with a Ziploc bag sample starter kit of cat hair -collected courtesy of my own cats, natch. Unfortunately, as much as I love cats, I couldn't see myself getting beyond the humor and being true to the book's intent - which is crafting small projects from your cat's hair, including, no kidding- finger puppets- after meticulously collecting and washing said hair. I can't imagine recommending this for the serious reader, but if you are so inclined, the book is full of detailed instructions and helpful tips.

La verdad es que lo compré por curiosidad más que nada viendo el buen precio al que estaba, pero una vez en mis manos me ha parecido muy interesante y lleno de ideas cuquis. Lo cierto es que cuando uno de tus pequeñajos se va, siempre te piensas que te hubiera gustado tener algún recuerdo de él, y éste me parece una idea sensacional.Algunos proyectos me parecen un poco complicados en el sentido de que con las fotos me falta un poco de orientación, pero otros son la mar de sencillos y seguro que fáciles de hacer para toda la familia.No necesitas prácticamente de ningún instrumental: todo lo que necesitas son cosas de andar por casa. Lo único que tienes que comprar son agujas de fieltro (y valen céntimos en cualquier tienda).Lo recomendaría para quien esté pensando en darle uso al pelo de sus gatetes =D
