I received a unit that was missed during QA inspection. My removal tool did not have the center hole machined for threads fitting the bolt to extract the seal. I will be returning since it will not function correctly and I absolutely do not recommend

It is not perfect and it may work for removal (didn't for me), but installation went smooth. It had some minor defects like scratches and the removal bolt either bent or was slightly bent already. Installation cup is from plastic. I suggest being careful not to use too much force or use a washer as the nut with bearing ring will start digging into the cup and will leave a mark.Overall, for the price of 66 euros with shipping, I guess it's fine. If you can, I am sure the removal tool can be modified to take more screws. Another thing that could help with removal is to give the seal a small tap beforehand. I forgot to do that and had to end up using a screwdriver and dent the seal inwards.

-I failed at the first try to remove the old seal.I added 6 holes in the tool (to have 12 holes for 12 screws) and it works.-To put the new seal the other tool is ok and fast.

It does not work to remove the seal. Then I dropped it and it broke. The casting was probably bad, because the edges of the remover tool were broken off already. Don't waste money on it. I've used the expensive brand tool which I borrowed for the same job before and they worked fine. For this lower price tool, I guess the quality assurance is iffy, so it's hit or miss.

Ok. This product does indeed work. I used it for my 09 N54’s crank seal. Initially, I thought it didn’t work for pulling the seal out because I didn’t have success the first time however, it was the screws that’s came with this kit. Just do not use them. Seriously, not a good idea. Get stronger, similar screws from like Home Depot. It works well with different screws and getting the new crank seal in was easy. Worked great.

There was no instructions, the tools seems to used because the storage comtainer locking tab is broken..the ad also did not state it was used..the machine screws are inadequate to be drilled into the seal as the is made partially of metal. The ad also did not state that you need a drill which I had to but separately

So I questioned myself a lot before I purchased this tool, is it the right one, well it’s certainly the cheapest... back and forth. Then I went through with the purchase. Then I received it. It sucked, screws didn’t catch and felt like a waste of time/money. Also the metal it’s made of is quite brittle as the flanged broke off in bits quite easily. Remover didn’t work. But then I found the tapered version of the removal tool, without the screws. I found it on fcp euro by itself for like $70. Bought it, it worked, and I used the installation tool that came with this kit with ease. Take it for what it’s worth.

This tool work very well to remove the old seal and install the new one. Just get some extra sheet metal screws from a hardware store , I didn’t even try to use the ones that came with it. The kit is made better than I expected. I’ve used this on a 07 335i “n54” and a 08 335i “n54”
