Anyone Who owns a jeep Cherokee know that these crank position sensors are a “PITA” to install.i’m a mechanic and it took me three hours to install this piece of junk for it not to work. of course, trying to return it I would have to get a replacement. Wait for that replacement to get to me and then do the work all over again another three hours to just remove this piece of junk. it’s my fault for buying a $15 part that I should’ve paid $146 for. with that being said, I still extended an olive branch and gave this part. A chance left it on for a couple weeks to no avail. My vehicle just kept running worse and worse and gas mileage was disgusting, not to mention how the vehicle wouldn’t crank over and start after running and getting warm to operating temperature. I own a 1994 Jeep Cherokee sport with the 4.0L Straight 6cyl. For the record, my vehicle has a new distributor cap with rotor, new wires, new spark plugs, gaped to the correct measurements, new map sensor, new PCV valve, new oxygen sensor (Bosch), New coolant temperature sensor. idle control valve has been removed, cleaned and reinstalled operating to normal, Throttlebody has been removed and cleaned as well. I have received the new crank position sensor bought for my trusted and reputable distributor, and I will give an update when installed… also pictures and video to come.

JEEP cherokee 4.0 1996. Giving me start up fits and then stalling. NO OBDII errors popped, but this is from first year of the the scan standard and not many electronics. Eventually got to crank sensor and that was it. This part worked GREAT. Plus the old girl got new plugs, wires, coil, cap and rotor in the adventure.Bill

Replaced the old sensor after a wiring fire. Part fits on transmission case and wiring harness connector. Make sure to clean the sensor before removing and once more around the case before installing. 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ. No issues to report.

Amazon site said this was the correct CPS for my '96 Cherokee Classic. It wasn't. The plug did not fit the factory harness. Simple and easy return.I gave 5 stars because you have to rate to complete a review and one star wouldn't be fair to the manufacturer. Product was probably great if you have the vehicle it fits. Great return!
