These appear to be well made and durable. They have long enough handles to give strong leverage and a tight grasp. The wire cutters work well. While not padded or dipped, I found the handles to be comfortable to grip and squeeze. They fit well in my hands.

This is an ok set of pliers. I prefer the style with the built in staple puller to this style but it is nice that with the smaller profile these fit in a pocket or tool belt a bit easier. Heavy duty wire cutters for cutting thick gauge wire fencing. Overall not a bad tool at all, if maybe a tad high priced.

Review: CRESCENT 8" Button Fence Pliers - 10008VN-05I recently purchased the Crescent 8" Button Fence Pliers (model 10008VN-05), and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision. From the moment I unboxed these pliers, it was evident that they are built to last. Crafted by a reputable brand like Crescent, these pliers truly live up to the expectations and the quality associated with the name.First and foremost, the construction of these pliers is impressive. The materials used feel rugged and durable, and the overall design is both functional and ergonomic. The grips are comfortable, allowing for extended use without causing fatigue, which is a blessing for those long projects.Functionally, these pliers perform exceptionally well. Whether you’re fastening fencing or working on other projects around the house, they deliver precise results and hold up under pressure. I’ve used them on a variety of tasks, and they have consistently proven to be reliable and efficient. The button feature is particularly handy, ensuring a secure grip on wires without slipping or damaging them. While they may come at a slightly higher price point compared to cheaper alternatives, the investment is absolutely worth it. The durability and performance of these pliers make them a long-term companion for anyone looking for quality tools. In my experience, the cheaper options may initially save you some money, but they'll likely need replacing sooner, making the Crescent 8" Button Fence Pliers a more economical choice over time.In summary, if you're in the market for high-quality pliers that promise longevity and effective performance, the Crescent 8" Button Fence Pliers are an excellent choice. They are exactly as advertised, and I have no doubt they will serve you well for years to come. Highly recommended!

These fence pliers from Crescent are constructed of alloy steel, and feel solid in the hand. There is very little play in the pivot point. The teeth of the jaws and pipe grip are machined well, and provide a strong grip and sharp bite. The overall length is 8.25" when closed, and the jaws expand to a maximum of 1.5" at the ends. The pliers weigh 12.5 oz, or 354 g, and are balanced around 1.5" under the pivot point. The metal handles have a mild knurled texture. They're uncoated, which is really the only gripe I have about using these pliers for long periods of time. I will likely tape the handles for a more comfortable feel and for improved grip.

This is a very solid, utilitarian set of pliers by Crescent. The overall design is rather minimalist, which I (surprisingly) enjoy. There's no rubber on the handles to wear through, and the only moving parts are the two halves. The overall casting is clean and accurate, and the machined surfaces are bright and smooth. The lack of rubberized handles isn't an issue at all; rather, I've found the bare steel to be very grippy and provide great feedback for the pressure you're exerting.I've used these to cut and twist rebar tie wire recently; they cut perfectly and grab the wire tight. They're also a great option for a set of linesman pliers, as the nose and teeth grip very tightly. Don't take my advice on that if you're working with live wires, though...there's no insulation. The single joint is smooth yet tight, without any noticeable slop. The sets of cutters also provide several different options/angles to feed wire for cutting, which is convenient, especially when running electrical.Overall, Crescent historically puts out a quality, lasting tools, and this is no exception. This is a solid tool that's built to last.
