This silicone is the perfect midway point between white and clear. You don’t see through it once cured like you do with clear, but it really hides and blends the transition between the two surfaces you’re caulking. I use it almost exclusively.

Used this to seal a shower that's made with light stone. The translucent property is very nice, hiding the seam where stones meet, but looking clear near the edges of the caulk. I don't know why this stuff isn't available widely.Applies like any other silicone, have some mineral spirits handy to smooth and clean up.

I read some of the previous comments, and my problem was the same – both white and clear caulk looked terrible. I was trying to conceal a gap between a backsplash and countertop, and this stuff worked great. It pretty much disappears into whatever color it’s applied to, but there’s still enough coloration to block any blemishes from behind.Just one caveat: when I removed the masking tape, the edges peeled back a bit from the work, so I had to apply the good old finger one more time to smooth things out.I HIGHLY recommend using nitrile gloves If you are going to use your fingers as the smoothing tools, because this is some sticky stuff!Pricey, but worth it.

If you're reading this, you're probably wanting to know what this CRL translucent white silicone (which is not available at my local Home Depot or Lowes, thanks useless big-box stores) actually looks like. If only we had the technology to easily share pictures across the world!I took pictures of squiggly glops of CRL 33S vs white caulk (DAP Alex Flex, not actual silicone but DAP calls it "siliconized acrylic latex") vs clear silicone (GE brand, "100% silicone, 7 year" made by Henkel) so you can see the difference. The reason people describe the CRL translucent white silicone seal differently is it looks nearly the same as "clear" when in a very thin bead or smear, but is an opaque off-white in a thicker bead (2mm or more). Depending on the light, it can even look light grey rather than whitish.I also provided pictures of the CRL 33S translucent white silicone that I used to install and "caulk" a bathroom backsplash... it's a manufactured stone, Cosentino quartz silestone in Blanco Maple. I think the CRL 33S is a good match to the darker-colored flecks in the quartz and it doesn't draw attention to itself, which was my intention since the gaps to the wallboard I was sealing with the silicone are uneven (due to the drywall being a little wavy), and I also had a big ol' gap (3/16“ wide?) between the two sections of backsplash to fill in with sealant. If your bathroom or kitchen has a lot of bright white trim or cabinets, and your wall to backsplash seams are perfect, then maybe a pure white silicone would match those other elements and look better than the CRL 33S translucent silicone.FYI this stuff skins or starts hardening in a reasonable amount of time... in 70-degree ambient temps, I'd say it became "unsmoothable" at about 12-15 minutes. Which is plenty of time, but if you're an amateur DIYing a job for the first time, you're going to be really slow and inefficient compared to someone who knows what they're doing. Why the 4-star review (instead of 5 stars)? Just because nowhere on the tube of CRL 33S is it labeled "translucent white," so if you've never bought this stuff before, you have no confirmation that what you were shipped is actually what you ordered.

I used this product on a Carrara Marble backsplash where it met the Carrara marble vanity. It looked 100% amazing! The only and only thing I think they should include is…It’s has a removable tip, they should include a screw on cap to keep the product fresh when you remove the tip. I’m constantly trying to shove nails or wire nuts over the tip and then taping them off with electric tape. A simple screw on cap would be pretty cool.
