As other reviews have stated, yes you have to remove two of the fins, at least if you are using them on your Jeep TJ. I had them in for about a year and noticed my side markers bulbs kept burning out. Turns out these things let water in. If you are doing to use these put on a gasket to keep the water out, otherwise just source oem.

My 2002 Jeep Wrangler had a broken bulb stuck in the fender indicator, the part specifically made for the TJ is near impossible to find so I took a shot and this worked. Two of the "wings" to hold it in needed to be cut off, but it works perfectly.

direct replacement for my 94 yj front side marker. my old one was corroded and ruined. comes with plenty of wire to reach wire harness. I think I cut off about 5 inches to perfectly fit my situation. soldered and heat shrunk connections. plug fits tightly into side marker housing. and the bulb was included! id give it five stars if I was able to determine the actual quatlity/lifespan of part, time will tell.
