Easy to install - I did not need to cut the heat shield. The muffler does it the hitch on sharp turns, but I put some Everbilt Brown Felt Blanket (for furniture legs) from Home Depot on the hitch itself and I dont even hear it anymore.

I was looking for a hitch that would fit my car and was lead to believe this one would. So, I ordered it. Not only did it not fit my car, the parts for installation were sent incomplete--four bolts and one nut. Helluva QA dept you got there.

2019 Fiesta ST, it fits perfectly. Installation was interesting but not hard, probably took me an hour with the car on the ground. I did not need to cut or file anything on the car. The bolts and spacers did just barely fit through the access holes. Did not need to cut the heat shield. I installed a longer rubber exhaust hanger which lowered the muffler a bit, I can still hear it knock slightly on hard cornering (as one does in a FiST) so I may attach something rubber to attach to the hitch to cushion this knocking. The receiver mounts fairly low (beneath the bumper) but I don't think it impedes ground clearance. Looking under the car (mine is stock), the lowest thing is probably the exhaust pipe. I used a CURT 45024 ball mount to get a nice 5-inch rise from the receiver so that my Harbor Freight trailer is more-or-less level.

First off, this does fit the Fiesta ST. Second, they claim no cutting and that it can be done in 30 minutes. This is not true. If you have installed a couple and know the tricks you can do it pretty quick but the first time requires a little trial and error. You will also need to enlarge the access holes for inserting the carriage bolts. This can be done with a file or die grinder. You need to paint the bare metal afterwards. You also need to remove and cut down the heat shield to clear the rack. This is best done with a pair of metal shears but you can do it with a dremel or possibly some heavy scissors. The instructions tell you how to trim the shield but I placed and marked the shield after installing the rack to get a nice fit.Hot Tips:You need to get the car at least ten inches off the ground to do this. More than that makes it easier. A friend helps so make one.You need to drop the exhaust and you do this by popping the hangers out of the rubber isolators. Lube them first and your life will be easier. I used rubbing alcohol but you can use WD40 or even PAM to do it. It requires some effort to get them off. I found that using water pump (also called slip joint)pliers, with an open end wrench against the rubber, to be effective in pushing the hanger pin through the rubber hanger.Put masking tape over the area above the exhaust, You are going to need to push the rack between the exhaust and bumper and this will help prevent scuffs. You have to enlarge the most forward holes to get the carriage bolts in. You can put the flat plates in the frame rail and slide them into position then fish the bolt wire through the frame and plate and out of the enlarged access hole. Screw the bolt onto it and fish the bolt into place. Use the forward attaching hole (the middle one) on each side and leave the bolt wires in place. This is so you don't accidently push the bolts back into the frame rail. Slide the hitch into place and and run the fish wires through the hitch. Unscrew the fish wires and CAREFULLY start the nuts. If you have a narrow needle nose you can hold the bolt with it.. Once you have the first two screws started you can run the fish wires for the second set (the rearmost holes) of bolts.Be sure to push the rack as far forward as the screws allow before you tighten it up. You want the rack concealed on your hot hatch :-D

Fit my 11 Fiesta hatch absolutely perfectly and the quality is great. The instructions were very good and everything possibly needed (such as the fish wire) was included. Installation should be fairly easy for anyone with basic tool skills and, for me, no cutting was even needed to get the hitch to fit properly. Since installation I haven't had any problems, no clangs or noises of any sort. With this hitch, I can easily carry my mountain bikes no problem and have even used it to tow a light trailer with building supplies, no problems. My only complaint is that I didn't purchase it and install it sooner.

The installation was easy and really didn't see a need to cut the heat shield so I skipped that part. The hitch fits snug up against it and I am not getting any noise or vibration. Plus, I really don't like to mess with things that the manufacturer put there and tested extensively for my safety. The mounting bolt heads are almost too big to fit through the openings but they did slide through once I used a large screwdriver to pry them through. Once the bolt heads are in, you are home free. Using the supplied cable to pull them through is easy and hanging the hitch is a breeze. It's so easy, I plan to pull the hitch off in the winter, put the nuts back on with washers and store the hitch inside since my little trailer gets snowed in anyway. I am sure I can re-install it in less than five minutes since the bolts will already be in place. The car does not need to be jacked up at all to install the hitch. The hitch does ride a little lower than I expected but not so low that it will be a problem. I just think it would look better if it was tucked up a little tighter. It does however look pretty good as far as hitches go and it functions flawlessly so if I could rate it 4 1/2, I would. I just can't see owning a car without a hitch and this one is about as good as they get. I am am pleased with it.
