It was ok to install, pulls a small boat and trailer well. Bit of drilling, works good so far.

I'm not sure if this was listed poorly, but the seller tells me they don't think it comes with a ball mount. I let them know and send them a picture of my order showing that it's supposed to come with a ball mount and that's why I specifically chose this order rather than the one next to it, but they're shuffling me around and they didn't really help me. It seems like the hitch will work great. Mounted right up to my car, so I'm not going to take the time to return it now. It seems like a good price for the item, I'm just annoyed at being jerked around.

Very solid and well built tow package , I used a floor jack to line up it up as flush as possible, have pulled a trailer 3 times so far with my Jetta TDi with no issues

Took me about 45 minutes to install on my 2004 VW Jetta TDI. Wasn't too hard to install and the directions were pretty good. Only complaint it that the one nut that you have to tighten to over 100 ft-lbs had this little handle on it that was not strong enough to keep the nut from spinning and ended up just wrapping around the nut. The nut also didn't feel like it was strong enough to handle the full torque and was just being pulled through the hole. Seems like there should have been a washer and a little longer bolt.

I put this on using a jack and a piece of wood. I had someone hold the wood and keep the hitch in position while I drilled the driver's side. The passenger side also requires a hole to be drilled to tighten the bolt down. Im sure you can find a grommet or something that can cover that. This hitch felt very secure hauling a trailer up the Rocky mountains and down and through the midwest in my Jetta. All you need is a ball, which my local dealer had, and you're good to go. The install was very easy and straightforward. It'd be a lot easier on a lift, and it also really helps to have an extra set of hands for smaller tasks.

This hitch works well and looks great. However, installation presented a couple of challenges that I hadn't expected. Our Jetta Mk IV has two holes manufactured on the bracket that attaches the rear tow loop to the chassis. The hitch mounting bolts go through those holes, and the plate on the passenger side of this hitch mounts to that tow-loop bracket. Once you get the hitch installed, the mounting plate on the hitch will cover up most of the tow loop. This may not be a problem for you, but it's worth being aware of before you get ready to install the hitch. The installation instructions seem to picture the handle of the handle nut hanging out exposed above the tow loop. But that didn't make any sense to us.As others have noted, while installing it's important to hold the hitch up to the car with a jack while running the bolts.

I have never installed a hitch before...until now! This hitch was EXTREMELY easy to install on my VW TDI! Just follow the included instructions and everything goes smoothly! Something I might add, is that it is to your advantage to use a compact and lightweight Lithium Ion Cordless drill such as what Craftsman sells at Sears. Being that is a compact drill, you won't have to drop your exhaust to do the install. All I had to do was use the set of Low Profile Rhino Ramps that I already had and backed the car up on them. From then on it was quite easy. I did use a short piece of 2x4 under the hitch to wedge it into position where I needed it to be. Make sure to use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts properly. Good Luck and Happy Towing!!!
