This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. I ordered feeling confident because of the "this fits your veichle" assurance from Amazon. I tried to install, just outside of the return window, leaving me out of luck. There are parts missing, along with the hitch advertised for this item. Disappointing, despeptive, and untrustworthy. Do not purchase this product. Most likely you will only be relieved of your money for a worthless product.

Excellent hitch. Would advise to bumble buy with the electric wiring for the trailer brakes. I bought separately and came out a bit more expensive. For a Mazda 6 this hitch size is perfect for my minimalist needs.

I needed a hitch on my 2017.5 Mazda 6 to pull my small sunfish sailboat. This did the trick. The installation was easy enough. The hard part was running the battery cable for the wiring kit. But that's not part of the hitch installation itself.

Mine came missing 1 set of the 4 required sets of hardware so I had to make do at the hardware store. Time waste!The included fishing tools to get the bolts in place in the frame rails are a bit short for the front set of bolts so have a vice-grip device handy to hold on to the pointy end so that you don't lose it while threading on the bolt and washer. Push the washer in separately first, then pull the bolt through. Once you get the hitch in place the brackets rest on top of the exhaust pipes, so if you have floor jack handy this can be a 1 person install in a pinch.The ball carrier insert is very loose in the tube and rattles around like crazy. Can't figure out Curt's excuse on that one since they make both parts.
