I am very well please with the product even all the trouble that I had to go through. I was able to do it myself in 1 hour. Getting used to fishing that wire will take allot of your time, make a good bend between the plate and bolt and it solve that issue. I insterted th ball mount into the hitch which almost leveled it out when I placed on a hydraulic jack and was able to line it up right with the bolts no problem at all. The only issue I have is don't believe the title mine was supposed to come with a ball mount and when I contacted Anazon they told me that I would have to return the hitch so they could return the same hitch back with a ball mount, makes no sense. They sell the ball mount seperatelt all they had to do was send me my part. After I told them this was unacceptable they told me "The Team" is reviewing and would be in contact with me with the best psossible solution...never happened. Very dissapointed that I had to buy the ball mount twice

Installed on my 2013 Mazda 3. Perfect fit! Not easy to fish the carriage bolts in the frame but it can be done. Would be nice if there were 2 more spring leaders, after 2 uses they are pretty beat up.

The product is great, but the packaging was awful. The hitch itself broke through the box, in which it was basically stumbling around loosely, and the mount for the ball fell out. I am also missing one screw and plate for the installation. I would have returned it, but I need the hitch this weekend, so I had it installed and hopefully it'll hold up with one less screw.

Review for 2011 Mazdaspeed3As others have said, the '20 minute estimate' for installation is an absolute joke. I am mechanically inclined but this was still rather difficult to install, taking me around an hour and a half. The only way install could possibly take 20 minutes is if you have a car lift that gives you standing room under the car, but fishing the bolts through with the provided tool was the most tedious part and can't be avoided. I recommend that you follow their instructions but being sure to get the rectangle washer fished through the first inner hole in the framerail (while on the line) by guiding it with your fingers through access holes before attempting to also pull the bolt through. The hitch itself is extremely high quality. The four bolts near the muffler were easy to torque but the ones near the bumper were difficult to access with anything but a small hand wrench so I was unable to get more than estimated torque to them. In the one weekend I have had this I put it through its paces on a 700 mile trip half through the mountains with spirited driving and half on interstate all with a loaded motorcycle trailer. Everything worked perfectly and I trust this hitch and my car to handle much heavier loads in the future.Curt seems to have finally taken action on the packaging issue that others mentioned; mine was in a large box that had a section labeled on the outside for you to mark the package as damaged and send back if there was damage to the package, but in my case it was in mint condition. Inside the box there was form-fitting expanded foam in all of the corners and everything was packaged sturdily.I have added photos to the listing for referenceUPDATE: I have now had this for 3 months and have hauled more things than I ever imagined, I am the "Friend with a truck" everyone calls that doesn't even have a truck! I have zero complaints about it and have definitely put it through its paces

This hitch fit perfectly on my Mazda3 and looks great. Fabrication and finishing quality is excellent and installation was pretty easy. The low cost really does not speak to the quality of this part; it was much better than I had expected-I'm a very satisfied customer.Just as a tip to future installers: I would recommend searching an install video on Google or YouTube. The instructions were a bit unclear as to which frame holes the hitch should mount in (2 sets look like they could work).

This looks like a top quality hitch. Robust construction, powder coating (better than just paint), and packed for shipping pretty well. However, mine came bent from the factory. To make a long story short, I attempted to install the hitch as per the instructions. Everything went well until I tried to mount the hitch to the mounting bolts in the frame. One mounting hole was bent about 0.5 inches out of whack. It could NOT be fiddled into position. Grrr! Anecdotal posting on car forums indicate that bent mounting brackets are not uncommon among all brands.I called the company the next day, and to Curt Manufacturing's credit, they replaced it with very few questions and via next day shipping. They get mega points for correcting the problem quickly and with no objection. The mounting bolt installation is done with an ingenious fish wire system to get bolts into hard to access holes in the car's frame. I was kind of dubious about this process, but this worked very well. Just follow the directions. The muffler had to be pushed aside slightly, but I got the mounting bracket in to position. Your car may differ (mine was a 2010 Mazda 3 hatchback). For anyone mounting on this vehicle, the 2010 Mazda 3 hatchback: the distance between the two mounting holes toward the front of the car should be approx 37-5/8 inches center to center. If it looks bent, it might be, and this measurement should verify whether it is bent or not.Their claim of mounting this hitch in 20 minutes is not realistic unless you have a car lift and do this for a living. Figure 1-2 hours depending on your skill/etc.I wish the first hitch had been perfect, but their customer service took care of it quickly. I am now enjoying my bike rack mounted on this hitch receiver and it is very solid.UPDATE 8/2012: This hitch is still rock solid & not rusting. I would buy another Curt if I needed to.My bike rack:
