The hitch mount is fine, but it DOES NOT come with the ball mount and pin as pictured and promised. Amazons support doesn't seem to cover it, and Curt haven't gotten back to me about it. Half the reason I bought this was to get the INCLUDED ball mount and pin, now I have to go buy one at my own expense because Amazing didn't keep their side of the deal. Zero stars if I could.

This Trailer hitch surpassed all my expectations. It installed in no time and fit my subaru perfectly. Honestly one of the best purchase experiences I have ever had. When they say it fits, it is a perfect fit. What amazing craftsmanship. Thank you, sincerely Eric Sautter.

Seems to be well constructed with quality metal. Definitely lighter weight than I'm used to but this is the first class ii hitch that I've installed. My only complaints would have to be the lack of hardware given and the position of the safety chain attachment hoops. This kit requires you to reuse the bolts that are in already in the car. These bolts are very short and make it hard to get them screwed back in once the receiver is held in place. This causes some concern for cross threading, but can be avoided if you're careful. Supplying longer mounting bolts would eliminate this issue. The safety chain hoops are nice but are located directly below the holes for the hitch pin. This makes it almost impossible to attach the cotter pin. Not an issue for a 2" receiver, but the smaller size of the class ii means there is no good spot to rotate the hitch pin in order to get the cotter pin in. I ended up having to use a hammer to pound in the cotter pin, will be difficult to get back out in the future if I need to. Relocating the safety chain hoops 1" rearward would fix this issue. Overall good product, and fairly easy to install as long as you have a 12mm socket for the charcoal canister, 14mm for the exhaust hangar and the tow points, and an 18mm socket for the mounting bolts. Install time took about 50 minutes.

Shipped super quick, was easy to install and works great! There are plenty of reference videos on YouTube for reference. Hitch is super sturdy, welds look great, and it's a nice gloss finish. Does not come with tow ball. Also, dont be discouraged when you don't see hardware in the box... you use your factory hardware!

Unfortunately this order arrived (July 26) missing the ball mount, pin and clip. I immediately messaged Curt to try to resolve the missing items but it has been a week with no response at all. A disappointing long weekend without the boat to say the least. I know Curt makes quality products but I am very disappointed in their customer service at this point and unless this is resolved in short order I cannot recommend this product.

Was an exact fit for my 2004 Forester XS. Towed a trailer on a 500mile round trip and it did just fine. Very sturdy construction. Be advised that if you live in the rust belt and your vehicle is 10+ years old and has never had a hitch installed, you will need to remove some seriously rusty bolts and brackets to install this so be prepared.

The hitch is pretty sturdy and well worth the money! There are a ton of different videos to watch if you need help installing it. There was a wire harness that I bought separately, and that was just plugged and play.I had a couple of hiccups putting it in, but it was on my part (I left my socket extender and breaker bar at my apartment and worked on it at my parents' house). Since my Subaru is 16 years old and I live in Massachusetts, I thought there would be more problems installing it because of rust from years of road salt, but there weren't. The bolts are already in place in your car, so you don't have to make bolts fit through rusty old bolt holes. You'll need a breaker bar(which was one of the hiccups I was talking about).

Bolted up without a problem and seems exceptionally high quality for a good price. Can't wait to start towing behind my Forester.

It looks to be made of great material and its also very well built but its not perfectly aligned with the 7 oval slots , had to die grind to fit all 7 bolts , and the Evap container brackets had to get bend forward in order to fit back in place ( Subaru Forester XT 2.5 Turbo 2004) Manufacturer also forgot to drill a side hole for the bolt they supply with for the install , Instructions say 45 min , I'm a professional and it took me 3 hrs . I'm very disappointed bcuz I purchased it for a customer and I told him its about an hour install like the instructions claim .45 min and then I charged for 2 and came to a loss for myself for an hour ! Hitch is made of tough material to which its difficult to try and drill a hole after installed on Vehicle ! Will prob buy again but only on a special lower price if mods are needed !

This hitch was put on without a hitch. Okay, that was horrible and I'm sorry you read that. I mounted this hitch to my 2004 Subaru Forester XT following instructions found on [...]. Took me maybe two hours from start to finish including cleanup, breaks and getting the vehicle off the ramps. The quality of this product is outstanding. It was packaged very well and this is built like a tank. I attached the Curt 18034 Dual-Arm 4-Bike Rack to this and had ZERO issues. The hitch fit around my stock exhaust and interfered with nothing. You do lose the factory tow hook, but this will fill in just fine. It tucks away nicely under the bumper so you almost have to look to find it! I highly recommend this product.

I own a 2007 Forester. This hitch is great! It was a little bit of a nuisance to install (sticky bolts on my car needed a pry bar and WD-40), and also needed to bit of fabrication to fit perfectly; I needed to cut the shaft off of a bolt on one of my Forester's muffler hangers, just so the muffler hanger would sit flush against the hitch bar. It was not an issue, though, because I was just cutting the extra length off of the bolt, not removing the nut.The mounts lined up perfectly, and it fits into place perfectly around the OEM muffler unit. I have used this hitch mount to tow a 6ft utility trailer, carrying maximum loads of 800-1200 pounds. For this kind of work, it works flawlessly.
