I started to install the hitch and realized the box was missing a 3" spacer that probably slipped out of the bottom of the box. When I went to the Curt website, it was impossible to find a page where I can purchase a replacement. As for the product itself, it looks great... sitting on the floor of my garage until I can find a replacement spacer!

The hole were on the vertical sides. Had to drill 2 holes in order to be able to pin something into it

As much as this hitch description claims that it's made specifically for the Crosstrek, I was surprised that it required grinding out existing holes to make them large enough to fit the bolt heads. Seems like a custom hitch should install cleanly, without grinding down the steel frame of the car.Install tip:The two holes closest to the front of the car need to be expanded just a bit, while the others need a lot more grinding. I found that if I just ground out the front two, I could avoid grinding the others by pulling the bolts through from the other hold using the fishwire.

Thought was going to be a little tough. Turned out to be very easy. The reverse spring cables for the bolts made everything easy as 1,2,3.

Shipped quickly enough but looks used. Not a bad price but the description says "new" and its not. It has scrapes down to the metal where it has been already installed on someones vehicle. Be aware that it may not be new.
