With a mounting channel designed to fit onto a straight trailer tongue, the Posi-Lock coupler is easy to install. It is made from hardy steel construction and has a durable zinc finish to protect from corrosion, wear and tear. The lockable latch mechanism on CURT Posi-Lock couplers is easy to operate and adjusts by tightening or loosening a simple bolt. This CURT straight-tongue coupler features a gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs. It has a 2" channel and fits a 2-1/2" diameter trailer ball..

No, you can use this on a 30,000 lb trailer; however, if you follow the manufacturer's rating, it works very well and is a good value for the price.

It was a perfect replacement for my trailer. I also found that it was pre-adjusted fit a 2" ball tightly. I'm not sure if this was a coincidence but it was a plus. I sometimes struggled to get the old coupler on and off of the ball even when it was new. This one works much better.
