I have purchased and used thousands of five minutes glow sticks and just as many 30 minute glow sticks. The 5 minutes glow sticks sold on this page are not true 5 minute glow sticks. These are about 1/10th the brightness of actual 5 minute glow sticks.

Exactly what I expected, lights up a room for a few minutes. If there was a brighter glowstick, I've never seen it.

Excellent light and lasts longer than the white one and is brighter too! My wife and I had a flat tire on a dark road Christmas night and this was the perfect non-pyrotechnic road flare for traffic to spot us and AAA as well!

According to the cyalume website these have a 4 year shelf life. They come in a box with an amazon label covering the lot number and expiry date. The individual units inside have an expiry of 10/18 and I ordered them 09/17. Which means they must have been sitting for sometime. Remember these are for use in emergency situations, so make sure to open the box right away to determine when they should be replaced. Depending on how important and what the intended use is, you may not want to purchase these.

I bought these light sticks not expecting the best, since it had mixed reviews. I was surprised by how good these products are. The luminesce very well for the first thirty minutes: much brighter than the regular grade ones. What really took me off guard was that they continued to glow, at a reasonable level, for a couple more hours. Yes, these do wear down more than one of their normal light sticks; but this would be much better for like a short roadside emergency. I would definitely buy these again.

Pretty good. Very bright the first 10 minutes and stayed fairly bright for an hour, then slowly dimmed. Still a glow left after 6 hours, then I fell asleep.

These are plenty bright enough to spot at a distance or find something in your trunk but I wouldn't say they are comparable to a burning flare at all. packaging is sturdy, I've never had one arrive already cracked and the little loop at the top is handy for attaching to your clothing. They fade out slowly over about 10-15 minutes but do give off some light for a few more hours, although nothing like the longer lasting glowsticks from the same company. I bought a set last year to help my group meet up at music festivals at night and had some leftover for this year. They worked fine and didn't appear to suffer from sitting in my car for several weeks out of their box but in the foil wrapping. If every lumen counts (glow stickers I'm looking at you) these are the brightest I've found but for most purposes I would probably recommend the longer lasting ones by the same company.

I use these to glow string with. First off these are very bright and they last a while. They are ultra bright for about 5 mins but for the next 45min to an hour they fade but are brighter than the average glow sticks. I stopped buying these for now because they are a bit pricey for me. They have dropped the prices on them so I am considering buying them again. Anyways as I said these are very bright and last a while. The only other brand of glow sticks I have seen brighter are the Revolutions. However Revolutions burn out faster and are less durable. Revolutions always break on me when i wrap or do orbitals. The Cyalume are very very durable. It is not often that they break on me when i spin. Before you spin make sure to cut off the hooks at the end so you dont get your laces tangled. :DPROSVery brightLast a whileDurableCONSPriceNot SUPER DUPER brightHas a hook on the end (not a big deal, just annoying because you have to cut/bite them off...they tend to tangle on the laces)

I've seen some BRIGHT glow sticks, and they may have been this brand, but if they were they were soaked in boiling hot water to increase the speed of the chemical reaction that creates light inside glowsticks. For emergencies like a breakdown on the side of the road these are great for drawing attention that normal flashers would not attract, and are safe as they do not generate any heat. I'd keep looking though if you're just looking for incredibly bright glowsticks.
