First off, I will update this when I've had more time with it, and it's been professionally stringed.Appearance: it looked very nice to start with. Then I flipped it over. They stopped applying the varnish for some reason, right where the left hand goes.Other than that, the violin looks OK.The bow appears to be nice, and works well, once rosin is thoroughly applied. The case is really nice, very large, with good storage space. The shoulder test it comes with is nice too.Function: the sound quality is very nice. BUT I'll need to have a professional take a look at the pegs. The pegs are very loose in the peg holes, and do not hold when attempting to tune the instrument. Unfortunately, right off the bat, this makes the instrument unusable until I can get it looked at.I'll update once it's fixed up...

Nice craftmanship. A good beginner/intermediate violin. A much cheaper one simply cant match the sound quality.

I have been a fan of the Snow violins for several years now. A friend of mine recommended the Snow 200 model when I was looking to purchase an inexpensive but decent qualitied backup violin for myself. After comparing it with a whole bunch of other sdudent violins in the same price range, I realized that the Snow SV200 was by far more superior in sound quality than the rest of them out there, so I purchased it right on the spot. I must say that it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. I would highly recommend this model to any violinist who values a good sounding instrument.

I purchased this violin as a step up from the student violin I have been playing for the past 6 years. The difference is incredible. This violin has a beautiful sound and has a high quality look and feel. It came with 2 bows and a decent case. Overall, I feel this was a very good value. I am very happy with it.
