I usually use this on my griddle while cooking, it's pretty accurate for a cheap thermometer.

This is one of the cheapest Infrared Thermometer out there, performs accordingly.Love the color screen and the min/max/avg function.The dual laser is convenient.Just aim it so the target is in between the two dots.It's dead accurate when the ambient temperature is about 75-80 degrees but starting to drift badly when it's outside that range.Apparently there is no ambient temperature compensation - is there ?Thought I had a different unit so I got a second one, it was worse.

It does work, but the readings are questionable. 2 different lasers on this gun which are dependent on distance from the tested item. They sit so close that it makes it hard to get a proper reading at times. I've tested this gun against my friends name band (quality gun) and get a difference of up to 15-20° this is testing with same distance and item and the Temps very alot between his gun and mine. It's a nice temp gun but very questionable if the giving Temps are even remotely correct from it. Unfortunately I have no faith in this having a accurate reading at all.

I like the "average" temperature option. Its hard to find similar devises that offer an average temp. They have HI and LOW but the average option is great.One thing I did learn is that it doesn't work very well if it is stored in a cold freezing environment. The temperature is way off. Once I brought it in the house and let it warm up to room temperature, it worked great. I tested it on boiling water and ice. It was accurate, maybe not for scientific purposes but for general use.For the price and "Average" option, I recommend this product.
