This thing is powerful. In fact, even at the lowest, most quiet settings, it is still too powerful. It does not have an automatic side swinging vent. But even if you manually adjust the side vents to point to one side, it does not do a good job at redirecting the airflow, so if you have it installed facing you, you will definitely have a bad time.

The Daikin unit is amazing at cooling my Fl porch. It was delivered on a wooden pallet wrapped in plastic right next to the porch wall. I had to sign for the delivery. Make sure to order the split unit installation kit also. (Available on Amazon). It neatly covers the 4 lines coming from the unit. The outside unit is a little heavy and I had to have my son help me lift it on the L shaped brackets (optional use) that attaches it to the outside wall. The inside unit is easily managed by just one person. You may need to have professional intervention on wiring and checking the line for leaks if you have no experience. The entire family is enjoying this COOL purchase.

Warranty, 10-12 years on these Daikin units is only if installed by a qulified contractor. State rebates are only given for same proviso. Maine gives a $800 rebate.

Number one on Amazon product description page states a 12 year warranty on the ac unit. After I installed the unit, with no problems, I called to register the unit and was informed that I didn’t qualify for the warranty because the unit was not installed by a licensed contractor. The person on the phone stated that the information was in the paperwork that came with the unit. I didn’t get that information until after I ordered and received the unit. I think I’m due a 12 year warranty.

Installed the unit and it works great. Watched some YouTube videos on minisplit units and was able to install without any issues. A little pricier than MrKool or Tossot but hopefuly reliability offsets the price difference.
