This solution addressed a recurring problem for us. On a 2-week charter in the Pacific Northwest, our 44' sailboat came with a Fender 2 Step and it made getting on and off super easy and safe in any marina where we could not stern-in and open the fold-down transom. The product felt like quality and I was confident to step on and off each time. It was reliable even when wet in the rain because you can get a pretty solid, leveled food-hold.I did not have to inflate it during our 2-weeks at all and the pressure held.

I have used these fender steps before on boats and I think the product has some promise. The flexible part of the fender is thick, tough, and well molded. I am not worried about the fender being strong enough or the lines pulling through. That part is great. But the valve and how it seats (or doesn't seat) is terrible engineering and has no hope of working. First, you need a special fitting to put air in it. I got that and put air in it. 10 minutes later it was flat, the valve was clearly leaking. I bought the valve replacement kit. I followed the directions carefully and the new valve was just as bad. It simply does not seal to the rubber. I don't think this design can work as they have manufactured it. There is not enough pressure to hold an air tight seal around the valve insert. I did not expect something as simple as a fender to malfunction so badly so I did not even try to put air into it until the next summer when it was too late to send back.Save your money and buy something else for the boat. This is not the reliable fender step you think it is.

Fender is extraordinarily expensive, and they don't send the inflator adaptor and it does not use a ball needle like every other fender on the market. They don't tell you this. It require a $15 US plastic adaptor for an additional cost. Secondly it requires the use of a compressor to fill. I would not try a hand pump with this. However they do not specify a psi number leaving you to guess. I would return if I was able to. Most expensive fender for a boat I have ever bought and requires special products just to use. This is pure greed.

Quality looks good, but no way to inflate. Regular car tire inflators don’t work. They really should make that clear when ordering. I’m disappointed, now I have to order a twenty dollar inflator tool just for this step

Can’t inflate with any means and one of the molded links is defective. Going back.
