From the cover photo I was expecting just a turtle design, but if I had flipped through more photos I would have seen it was a tortoise and hare duo on each sock. The sock is comfortable enough, though in XL size it doesn't seem any more roomy than a basic sock.

I absolutely love Darn Tough socks, best in the business. They last me forever, and the best thing about them is the odor, they don't easily absorb odor like many of the other socks from different brands. They are expensive but you get what you pay for.

I've tried other premium brands of socks, including that famous brand that gives a pair to charity for every pair you buy, but nothing beats Darn Tough for fit and comfort in my opinion. I have multiple pairs now and usually wear each pair for 3 days before washin. The socks don't droop and bunch up iny shoes, and my feet stay comfortable in all weather. I wear them with sneakers and hiking boots. I wore them on a hike in Hawaii and my feet felt great.

My wife loves these particular socks for running. We both love all our Darn Toughs honestly and have replaced all our socks with Darn Toughs. The difference in quality between DT's and all other socks is unreal.I have learned to buy directly from their site, they have a rewards program and they ship in the same amount of time.

The socks look wonderful, they are a gift for someone so they haven't been given yet. I ordered a large but I'm not sure what I received because there is no marking on the socks, they look small but they are stretchable. There is a code on the packaging: LPN RR HL439 9030. I'm trying to find out if that code indicates it being a large or medium or small. Maybe the seller can answer this and if so I'd be happy to up my review.Update .. the sock size is printed along the upper band on the inside so I indeed did get the correct size. It was hard to tell because they're tight fitting, which is not uncomfortable at all, they just fit snug. So I'm changing my review to a five star

These socks are the perfect lightweight wool socks for winter. They’re lightly cushioned in the heels and toes and snug around the arch, so they don’t slide or bunch. Highly recommend for pretty much any activity.I do find they run small, so I buy M when I’m usually a S in other brands.
