I didn't replace the whole thing. I disassemble the new one and used the old hinge. The whole thing took 10 minutes to replace. If you want to replace the hinge too it will be a lot more disassembling...

Fits nicely but in my Ford flex it's not easy to remove the old hinge would be nice if they sold one without the hinge pre-assembled to save a little

Just installed this center console lid on our 2009 Ford Flex. We used this to replace the original lid that cracked and would creak any time pressure was put on it. Like the other reviewer I did not use the hinge that came with the new purchase as I couldn't figure out an easy way to get the old one off (some screws were covered and couldn't figure out how to get to them.) and there were no instructiosn included with the new console lid. But it was easy enough to take off the hinge on this new console (just a few screws) and attach it to original hinge. At first I couldn't get the new console lid to latch...it would lay flat but not latch, but then it ended up latching with a bit of extra force (nothing too crazy but you have to use more force than I did with the original one). The leather fabric is a good match to our black seats - maybe slightly duller looking but no one would really notice its not original. Would purchase again.
