First off, let me say that I love my first gen Tacoma, and I want it to last forever...I thought this item was really cool, and despite some small red flags in the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. Some have said that it's cut to fit, and very accurate, but I think results may vary. The item I received feels like it's possibly 2-3% too wide, and 6-8% too long. I've put in about 45min of work, trying to pressure fit it into the crevices ahead of the AC vents under the windshield, and it still seems to have a bit more material than I can make work. I will say that the vents and airbag cutouts seems to line up well, just wish it wasn't so "baggy" at it's best.I opted out of putting the hook/loop tabs on yet, because I couldn't get it to dry fit well enough to want to keep it in there. I'm persistent, but only to a point. The color is much cooler than the stock gray interior, and it kind of stands out, but it's not the end of the world.Recommendation? It's nice enough, but you may have to wrestle with it for a while to achieve really great results.

It's ideas like this that make me wonder why car makers don't put black carpet on the dashboard from the factory. Maybe it doesn't bother you but I don't like the reflection of the dashboard on the windshield on bright sunny days. I find it to be very distracting. Along comes this simple idea of putting a black rug on your dashboard, with Velcro to keep it in place, where black absorbs the suns rays instead of reflecting onto the windshield. Plus it takes some of the sun beating on your dashboard and helps to stop the dashboard from fading and cracking. Why didn't I think of this? I love this thing!

It’s rare that I’ve come across the perfect fitting dash mat, for any car that I owned, and this isn’t the exception to that. However, it really isn’t bad. The cut and fitment isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty darn good, it covers where it should, and doesn’t over cover other areas that it shouldn’t. The color looks great with my gray dash, and the provided sticky Velcro helps hold it in place. The mat does come a bit crinkled from being folded in a box, but with some time out in the sun, it will eventually flatten out. Overall, I’m satisfied with this dash cover, and I’m happy to have some protection on my older 2004 Toyota Tacoma.

Fitted to 2k Tacoma:I have another fabric dash cover that I never installed, because the King of these things didn't provide a cutout for my passenger side A/C vent & adjustment wheel. I couldn't believe it... but it's literally still in a box, in my garage. When this item arrived I popped it open almost immediately to inspect. This dash mat appears to be cut precisely, and has appropriate cutouts for my climate controls and passenger airbag. Right off the bat, it's an improvement. The gray color is a touch darker than my OEM gray interior... which might actually help reduce glare. I'm also looking forward to reducing the cab temperatures during summer. The underside of the mat is a touch rough, almost like a kitchen nonstick-safe scrubbing pad. I don't think it'll cause any damage, it's just a note. The top is like course felt or fleece. The external seams are taped, the internal cutouts are cleanly cut.I've installed a few dash mats in my day, and this one should be fairly strait forward and without complications. The directions are clear and thorough. My one reservation is long-term durability... not that I have reason to believe there's an issue. Just that it's impossible to know for sure, yet. I've seen sun-damage that powdered similar items, some sooner than others... but that was nearly 3 decades ago. I assume this will be far better than those. All things considered, this is great value & precise fit. At half to one-third the price off the top-tier mats, it's certainly worth a shot. Time will tell the rest...Recommended.
