Adorable pattern with an abundance of supplies provided. I did opt out of using the hook in the kit because it was too small for the yarn, which is more like a shoe lace type of material (same as another popular crochet kit) and is great for beginners because it doesn't fray. I did not find the videos very helpful, but if you can read a pattern you will be fine. I only began crocheting a few months ago and this was my 4th different amigurumi kit and honestly it was one of the easier ones. Loved the result for sure.

I am teaching a Fiber Arts class locally and was looking to get a crochet project that was beginner friendly. It was easy to follow the directions and super quick to stitch up. Everything you need is in this kit including markers (plastic safety pin), crochet hook with an easy grip and the perfect amount of yarn. Speaking of yarn, it is so soft and easy to handle. The stuffing is vacuum sealed, you may think it's not enough... but I promise once it is fluffed, it is the perfect amount.

This kit is adorable and I was so excited to try it out, but the directions are incredibly vague and hard to understand. The YouTube videos also have very vague verbal directions, and they move WAY too quickly to even try to follow along visually. The yarn that is included isn’t the best quality, and it started to fray almost immediately which made the process even more difficult (if not impossible). If you’re more experienced with crochet, this product might be ok, but I definitely would not recommend this for a beginner. I finally gave up after 3 hours…

The instructions are too fast. The videos do not break anything down enough for a beginner to understand. It is way too advanced for somebody just beginning. I had to watch videos from other creators to learn.. BUT, once I understood, it all clicked and I was able to do the rest with relative ease.

What's not to love about crochet and opossums! This is su h a cute kit. Can't wait to dive it. Instructions appear easy to follow and everything is included for the cutest crochet critter ever! My daughter is just learning this craft and I cannot think of a more fun way to learn this skill.

This was a gift for my daughter to occupy her time while she as in town visiting for the summer. She is not a child but enjoys new activities and this was the perfect introduction to crochet. The kit contained all the material and tools she needed to follow along with the helpful and thorough linked video instructions. She completed the craft within a couple of days and let me know she believed anyone could do it and enjoy it. She liked it so much the little guy went home with her and lives in CA now. :-)

Super cute item. 10 yr old is having a tough time as a beginner but noting we can’t figure out. Once this one is complete we will be buying another one.

I made the bunny! I’d wanted to a bunny cactus one for some time now :) There’s really supposed to be cactus that looks like little bunny heads, but not like this, though. It was a really fast project. I was really happy that the soil is a different color than the pot for this one. I also like the cool mint color of the yarn.Stitches/Difficulty for Bunny Cactus:BLOChain StitchCrochet in the RoundDouble Crochet ***Magic RingSingle CrochetSingle Crochet IncreaseSingle Crochet DecreaseSlip StitchMost Rounds in a Part: 13Most Stitches in a Row: 32The more asterisks, the less the stitch appears in crochet kits. This is a very small set of stitches (I have completed sixty-five crochet kit projects so I think I have a pretty decent sample size). I think this it would be very possible and rewarding for someone to complete this as their first crochet kit based on just the stitches (but the instructions are good, too, so go for it!).Instructions:Paper: The paper instructions are very clear and easy to understand. The two booklets (one with the pattern, and the other with the stitches) explain how to the stitches and basic crochet concepts. Some of the pictures in the pattern booklet are a bit blurry, though. There are some typos, but it’s easy to figure out what they mean (like “Jse” is pretty obviously “Use”). I only used the paper instructions, but I thought I should write that you need a QR code reader (the Camera app on an iPad/Phone) to access the videos. The URLs are not printed.Materials:There’s three crochet hooks to choose from! Wow! The purple one has two different sizes (if your yarn is splitting, it might be because your hook is too small. If you’re having trouble pushing your hook through the stitches, use a bigger hook). The purple one is really fast to crochet with but the handle is too long for me. On the other hand, the orange 2.5mm hook is a grippier beginner’s hook. It’s slower, but your yarn won’t slip off accidentally as much. The yarn is really soft and there was plenty left over (the mint colored yarn is only for the cactus bunny and there looks to be enough to make another bunny! I used a 2.5mm (4/0) hook for mine). I had no issues with splitting and the yarn was one continuous piece. The metal tapestry needle works really well and just glides through the stuffing and stitches. The stitch markers worked fine. There’s plenty of stuffing left over, too. The eyes don’t come with backs so I had to find some to use with them because I don’t like gluing eyes. What I Did Different:I stuffed some pennies at the bottom of the pot before I stuffed it so it wouldn’t fall over (these things are so light!). The pennies shuffle around and it didn’t help much. Gah. I have to think up something else for the next potted crochet I try!
