Regulator worked fine for 6 months then started overcharging to over 16V. It trashed my battery before I discoverd the problem. The thing that makes it worse is the claim that it is guaranteed for a year but there is no way to contact the manufacturer. I should have known better with garbage made in China.

Have a powermaster alternator that was charging 16v. Called them and even though it was still under warranty I didn't want to send it back, pay for shipping and wait for 2 weeks with the car down. Bought this regulator for 14$, got it in one day and car was running that night! easy install also.

This voltage regulator worked great for me. I have an 85 Trans Am with the 12SI alternator. When the engine would warm up, I would see 17v+ being sent to the battery. Instead of buying a remanufactured unit, decided to spend a few bucks and try the voltage regulator. Disassembly and reassembly was very easy and I the few trial runs i have done since the repair, everything is working fine. Voltage output is right around 14.3-14.5v.Hope this helps anyone making a buying decision!

Put it on a John Deere G worked great. This is easier than a diode.
