Got this for a 03’ bayliner merc cruiser and it did not work! Picked up one from my local boat shop and my boat fired right up. Lesson learned, don’t go cheap of amazon boat parts. I was about to pull the starter next!

Wish I could give this product a 0 star review! Purchased this product for our boat. We received it 7/17/24. We put it in our boat 7/18/24 and it DOESN'T WORK AT ALL!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!

Lasted 3 months, store listing says 1 year warrantee, AMAZON wont let me start a return or replacement saying over 30 days........CHINESE TRASH

Replaced the one on my ‘84 Mercury 90hp tower of power. Worked well and seemed to fix the issue. On the second outing starter seemed sluggish but wasn’t a battery problem. Third outing something stuck and smoked under the cover. Removed and seemed to work fine don’t know if it was stuck and removal freed it up or not. Worked fine off the motor.

The solenoid stopped working the 2nd time out without any warning and left us stranded out in the middle of the lake. Unfortunately we are at 32 days so I cannot get a refund (I purchased on July 17 and it is now August 19). Also I know it is the solenoid because I ran a complete test verifying there was power from the battery at the solenoid, power when I turned the key at the top terminal of the solenoid, but still no clicking sound, and no power on the power out cable to the starter. Just a waste of money.
