This allowed me to organize my thread when working on a cross stich project. They give you these little pieces of paper to number so you know what color of thread you are working with so nothing gets mixed up. It's ideal to throw in a bag doesn't take up too much room, and everything seems to fit very nicely in it. Would buy again.

Great for organizing floss. However, you need to find a flat, rectangular take-out container in which to place the organizer. Otherwise, your floss loose ends just get tangled up in a bag.

Smaller then it looks in piture. The foam sides will ware fast. However if it works out l will order a second one. I work on large cross stitch projects and they come with a lot of floss.

I was so impressed when I bought this organizer, I could cut my lengths to use for my project and the skeins are secure with the foam tabs. durable but easy to pull out individual strands and the handy cards inserted with your pattern symbols slip right in. I bought 4. A must for every cross stitcher.

I ordered this floss organizer as a gift for my mother, who loves to Cross stitch. Previously, she used long floss organizer cards that had holes punched along the sides when she was working on a project, but the holes would eventually break open and she would have to get new cards. With this organizer, she will hopefully never have to buy anything else.It was highly recommended to me by a friend who has had one for years and never had an issue with hers. Each time you do a new project, you can customize the center strip to reflect the colors you are using. When you have used up all of the strips, it would be very easy to cut more out of cardstock. The foam slots hold the floss very well, but I would recommend that you not put a huge amount in one slot at a time so that the foam doesn't compress.My gift was a hit!

I am using this to manage my floss for individual projects. The color card that goes in is difficult to change. You get it slid part of the way in and a corner of it gets caught in one of the squares and it buckles. It came apart on me one of the times I was trying to get the card in and it easily went back together. Now I just take it a part to change the card! The space to write the color number is small. I have resorted to just putting strips of plain paper over the thicker card to write my color numbers on it gives me a little more room to write the number.The tails of the floss do get tangled easily when you are picking it up and moving it around to pull sections of thread off. Would NOT be a good management system if you are carrying your project in a bag on a regular basis unless you put it in something like a zip lock bag first.It does hold the thread well as log as you don't overload the peg.You can sort your colors to your preference.It has made managing a large color pallet for one of my projects so much easier because I can keep the extra thread on one side and my separated thread and loaded needle on the other side. I can manage multiple loaded needles at once!It is light weight and fairly compact. Takes less space than my big floss boxes. Faster to load as well.I have several of the smaller ones and one of the large ones.To help make sense of my pictures (the purple one is all the floss for one project I am working on its the big organizer that holds 50 spots.) the top number is the left side the bottom number is the right side. This project doesn't have frequent color changes so I don't keep pre loaded needles for it.The Pink organizer is the small one I have a pink, 2 purple and a green one and got these before I found the large one. They are all the floss for another project I am working on that has lots of color changes in small areas. I keep the threaded needles with each color on these each one that is highlighted means that there is over flow thread available that is not loaded on the organizer.

I am very happy with this purchase! This is a neat and clever embroidery floss organizer. For years, I have made my own floss organizers by cutting slits in pieces of cardboard. This is much more sophisticated and I would not be embarrassed for other people to see it. There are spaces for 30 different colors of floss. There are felted areas in the center were you can place threaded needles. This is a nice feature if you keep multiple needles threaded at the same time. I don’t sew that way, so I am unlikely to make use of that. If you are working on a small project, this organizer should hold all of your floss. You can easily put about 10 strands of floss in each section. I am currently working on a big project with many strands of floss. I put some floss on this organizer and it fits nicely and neatly on my side table. I keep the big skeins of floss out of my work space until I need more. This organizer would be very nice for travel or if you go to “bitch and stitch” groups; you just take what you need.

I use this to keep my floss colors separated for a cross stitch project. I have this one and one in a smaller size, which work well for their respectively sized projects. It keeps the floss from getting tangled. By putting a straight pin in the foam in front of each floss finger, you can easily keep a partial strand that you've already taken strands out of (ie separated a 6 strand piece into 3 strands). The center insert can be used in variety of ways to designate which color is which per your chart...I've taped photocopies of the symbol key from the stitch chart or of the color key as well. You can also write in color names or numbers.I did find it handy to sew a quick cover for this for easy transport and to protect it from inquisitive kitty paws.
