TruClose Heavy Duty hinges are ideal for high-traffic safety gates around swimming pools, childcare centers, schools, homes, playgrounds and hotels/resorts. These self-closing hinges will help ensure no gate is ever accidentally left open. With child and pet safety in mind, our hinges are made from UV-stabilized industrial-strength polymer and stainless steel components for long lasting performance. The quick and easy tension adjustment can be used to adjust your hinges to the gate weight and the closing speed. Simply use a large screwdriver at either end of the hinge barrel.

I bought two other sets from Elite Fence company. They were more expensive and they have terrible customer service. So I found the same item on Amazon for less with great return policy if I needed to return them but I don’t.

The hinges work fine but it is too soon (right after purchase) to really evaluate a hinge. We replaced previously installed (approx 15 years ago) gate hinges (same brand and type) with these hinges because one of the prior hinges broke. So they do not last forever. Might be better in metal than heavy duty plastic. But nothing lasts forever.

I replaced and old wood door ininstalled myself some years ago with metal hinges for a new, nicer aluminum door. I received the recommendation to go with this hinge... it's really top quality, smooth, it closes slowly, and feels premium. I highly recommend.

These hinges are well made!They are sturdy and allow for easy installtion.The tension adjustment is very easyto use.There are beauty caps that go over the screws on the hinges that went on easily and look very nice.Excellent installtion intructions also!

Bought 2 sets of these because the lawn service keeps leaving the fence gates open and we are tired of chasing the dogs through the neighborhood! Easy to install as the they had the same hole pattern as the old hinges. Very strong - no question they will close a gate when you set the torque up. Ours close now even if they are only opened about 6". One note - they do have a small area that sits between the post and the gate so you need about 5/8" clearance between the two for the hinges to sit properly. Take a look at the dimensional drawing and you'll see it. Definitely recommend.
