Is very easy to useJust a few turns of your Pencil and you're good to go. I use the thicker Round Pencils ✏️ and this works good.

the large pencil space doesn't accommodate a broad pencil. the small space if fine.

Have a few of these really large pencils that don't fit in my electric sharpener, but wanted to use them. It sharpens really well. As you can see, capacity for the shavings is small, but it's a known fact if you have eyes. Just be aware - if your pencil was sharpened using another gadget, it might feel like it doesn't work, since the angle might be different. This one is on the slanted side (short exposed white part rather than long); if you didn't know that, you might think it doesn't work well. It does.
