The B-10 displays results quickly and accurately using an easy-to-read analog readout..

The Delmhorst BD-10 6- to 40-Percent Pin Analog Wood Moisture Meter features:
  • A broad measurement range of 6 to 40 percent to cover a variety of conditions
  • Two scale types for use with wood and non-wood building materials
  • An analog readout window for visibility and accuracy

Two Scales for a Full Range of Applications
The Delmhorst BD-10 delivers accurate moisture readings, so you can create high-quality finished products or sign off on your inspection with confidence that the site is dry. With its range of capabilities, the meter can be relied upon in a broad array of scenarios, from home inspections to restoration jobs. And with two scales, the meter can be used to measure a wide variety of materials, from wood to concrete.

Wood Scale for Flooring and Building Materials
The meter's wood scale measures moisture from 6 to 40 percent--measuring from dry conditions (ideal for fine furniture) up to the fiber saturation point (about 24 to 30 percent). The large range means the meter can be used in high-humidity and low-humidity environments and on a variety of locations, such as wood studs, floor joists, subfloors, and EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems).

Reference Scale for Concrete, Plaster, and Insulation
The Delmhorst BD-10's reference scale expands your moisture-reading capabilities, allowing you to check moisture levels in non-wood materials such as concrete, plaster, and insulation--a particularly handy feature for restoration projects. This scale reads from 0 to 100 on a relative basis to accommodate a variety of non-wood building materials.

Analog Readout Displays Results Quickly and Accurately
This meter works quickly to give accurate results on its clear, easy-to-read analog display, which includes a built-in wood scale and a numerical reference scale for measuring relative humidity in non-wood building materials.

Pin-Type Meter with Electrode Connector Delivers Superior Results
The Delmhorst BD-10's pin-type meter uses two pins that penetrate wood and other building materials to a depth of 5/16 inch. Pin-type meters provide more accurate readings than surface meters because their tips come into direct contact with the material being measured. If you ever deal with materials that have been exposed to surface moisture, a pin meter is the best measurement tool because its readings are not skewed by this factor.

Plus, the Delmhorst BD-10 is built with a special connector for an external electrode, such as the (sold separately), which allows you to take surface and core moisture content readings to a maximum depth of 1-1/16 inch.

The Delmhorst BD-10 is backed by a one-year warranty.

Poor quality. The analog display failed after very little use.I was disgusted when I realized it only had a 90 day warranty - the manufacturer knows how bad they are. Other brands offer 2 year warranties!I'll be using GE Protimeter and will never buy another Delmhorst instrument.

I have two of the BD-10 units and have used them for a little over a year now. They are OK but the design is lacking. First, the connection for attachments (i.e., hammer probe) should be somewhere other than right next to the prongs. The prongs make it difficult to screw and unscrew the attachment to the unit. Second, the nut holding the prongs has backed itself out twice. Repairing it requires a minimum of an hour and unbelievable patience. I have just contacted Delmhorst customer service requesting a replacement unit but have not heard back yet. I'm very curious to see if they stand behind their products. Note, I have only had this issue with one of my units. The other one has been issue-free.
