This carved wood frog is a great little gift or item for yourself. One can’t help but pick it up and play. The first one I owned I bought in Mexico decades ago. So glad to have found on Amazon!

Loved the product such a fun instrument. Literally sounds like a croaking frog. My 4 yr old grandson LOVED it.

Really nice looking frog. Substantial size. Makes a pleasant sound. Appears to be hand-carved. The first time I ordered this the striker/drumstick was missing (which is a common complaint in the reviews here), but Amazon kindly sent a replacement.Note: Neither the original or replacement order contained the directions-card shown in product pictures; I didn’t mind as you can just read the directions in the product description, and, really, there’s not much you need to know). And the packaging consists of just a thin and fragile plastic bag; which is probably why my first order was missing the striker drumstick — there was a giant hole in the bag (but the Amazon shipping box was fully sealed, so I have to assume the drumstick fell on the Amazon warehouse floor before being packed). But the product itself is very nice and a good value.

This is a beautiful hand carved guiro. I'm really happy with adding it to a display with two other frog guiros. The other two are no where as nicely carved as this and both cost more. The wood is very nice and smooth, a lot of work involved in these carvings for such a small price. This would be a great gift in my opinion. For someone musical the sound is really interesting and would be a great addition in a band or just for kids to play along as percussionists. For a person who appreciates wood cravings, ethnic art or collects frogs this is a nice decorator shelf piece. It's also a fun gift for someone who has a sense of humor. As a bonus my dogs get really excited when the frog "croaks", it gives a little bit of happiness to all.

These are nicely carved knick-knacks that look interesting on your shelf. This 2" sounds reasonably realistic, higher pitched than the larger 'frogs'. I like this one because it easily fits in the palm of the hand and is fun to 'play'.

I have been practicing with all kinds of percussion instruments (Regular drums, various hand drums, Clave sticks, and the Maracas) the last few years and after already purchasing a 4 inch frog percussion instrument a few weeks ago I decided to also purchase a larger percussion frog. I just received this fantastic “World Percussion Deluxe 6 inch wooden Guiro Rasp Frog with wood scrapper” and found it to be a fantastic sounding percussion tool.Scrapping the top of the Frog with the stick makes a loud and unique frog sound and striking the top also sounds great. This combination of the four inch and six inch percussion frog are great additions to my collection of percussion instruments which I play in my drum circle class. If you are into percussion instruments you may want to check out this product which I got for a bargain price on Amazon.Rating: 5 Stars. Fun instrument, looks whimsical, the kids like it. The quality control could be better, mine has a chip out of the foremost spine that clearly happened before it was stained and finished. Doesn't really affect the sound, though. As for the sound, it sounds good. Nice, loud wood-block sound.

This is something I purchased because I thought it would be a cool musical imitation toy for our son to minimally work on some imitation targets. I haven't asked his music therapist how she feels about it yet in terms of his music therapy goals, because I ordered it after our last appointment, but I thought it would be cool because he would be able to feel the vibrations directly into his hand after he played it and it might have some usefulness there. Honestly, this thing is so super cute, I actually like it. And when I tested it out, it kind of sounded amphibious and part of me just fell a little bit in love with it :)My only word of caution is for those with sensory issues or respiratory sensitivities like asthma. It looks great, it sounds great. It smells like gasoline. So they used something petroleum based on this, and the fumes from those types of products can take a while to dissipate. I worked a little with our son with this tonight, and he didn't quite give me the potty scotty face, but I could tell he wasn't quite so sure how he felt about it. I am super happy because he tolerated the smell at least, there was definitely a time when he would not. And I think it *may* even discourage him from trying to chew on it. Maybe ;) But just a heads up in case you or your intended recipient has any troubles with stronger fumes. This is nearly as pungent as it is cute...
