I love that this fleece jacket has Velcro around the neck and around the belly. Easy to get on and easy to take off. If your pup has a longer back, like mine, you may not be able to use the tail loop, but it makes a great hang loop! I like the reflective piping. It seems to be very comfortable to wear; we have no issues with him trying to take it off.As for my ratings:I gave it an Overall Score of 4 because it's not quite long enough for my Dachshund (they're oddly shaped though).I gave it a 4 for Warmth because it wouldn't be suitable for extended periods in really cold weather.I gave it a 3 for Water Resistance because it's fleece and fleece will get wet if it's raining hard enough.I gave it a 4 for Stretch because it really doesn't need to stretch that much.It's a solid, well-made, affordable piece that I use almost every day during chilly weather.

There is no scenario that I would call my dog LARGE. Overweight, but not large.I have a small pudgy mix breed. She weighs 27lbs. I tried the Lg because it was the closest to her measurements. I don't know a lot about dogs, but the measurements all seem to be for skinny breeds. Perhaps I should have tried a XL.Technically, this fit. BUT, it severely interfered with her mobility. The length was perfect, but the neck and chest barely fit (Velcro overlapped about and inch. She almost fell down the stairs because she could not move her front legs, and she refused to go potty until I took it off, despite being 18F degrees. I tried unhooking the neck, and as she walked it slid backwards about 3 inches.If I couldn't return it, I would try cutting both velcro sections in half providing more room for her front legs. Perhaps I'll try a XL, but I hate ordering the same thing twice, only to return it twice.

I have purchased two of these for my shi-poos. I am very pleased with the over-all quality but especially pleased with the strength of the velcro fastners. I feel quite confident that they will hold and stay on while they romp outside this fall and winter. For my 17 pounder, I ordered a Medium and it fits great. My 19 pounder (13 years old) needed a large since he has a bit of a pot belly. The Large is a little too long but I just gather up about an inch or two material and fold it as I secure the velcro...not a big deal. I try to tell him he needs to lose some weight but he just doesn't seem to care.

I got this for my mom's chihuahua for when I am watching him. It is easily adjustable for a range of small dogs but you will want to be mindful of the velcro placement as they are rather large sections of stiff velcro and it may not be comfortable for some dogs as it rubs against their undersides. This seems to work well for us when we go outdoors during the colder seasons and is easy to put on and remove. Quite satisfied with the fleece quality as well. A good price for a well made product.
