If the previous owner of your new project Jeep cross threaded the oil filter so badly that it is impossible to install a new one, this will replace the existing threaded pipe with zero issue. I used a little Loctite red to make sure it stays in the filter adapter the next time I change the filter.

I mistakenly ordered the wrong Derale Remote Filter Unit for an engine oil cooler. It did not match my Derale external transmission oil cooler on the same vehicle. But for about $10 (Prime Shipping) I was able to match up my external transmission and oil filter to the Mobil M1-301 (or Wix 51515) filters. I find value is in paying less than I thought I would for my mistake, and therefore call this a valuable item.Thanks, Derale (and Amazon), for a versatile product and for providing a valuable (to me) solution!
