I came across this while looking for a "budget" monopod head and am so glad that I decided to give it a try. This head is well made and works great! I like that the top clamp can be pulled off and spun any way I want, and the bubble level comes off as well. I have big hands so being able to rotate the top and remove the bubble level has given me so much more space for my knuckles when using the tilt knob. Perfect for my R7 and rf100-400, I will definitely be looking into other items made by Desmond Photographic!

Fit and finish on this mount are flawless. Very stout and able to handle heavy loads. I have used with my full frame Nikon Z8, FTZ adapter and heavy 135mm f2.0 lens. The mount is rock solid. I paired it with the SUNWAYFOTO Indexing Rotator w Detent DDP-64Si improved DDP-64s to shoot Milky Way panoramas. The mount is easily adjustable, locks down securely and is extremely versatile. Worth every penny. I would definitely buy again, highly recommend!!!

This is for my Nikon 400/2.8 AF-S II. I have a monopod and the lens came with an arca Swiss standard plate by RRS. Visiting local camera stores, I saw some very nice hardware only to find the head was good for 5.5 pounds or something else that would not do. I’m not excited about spending $400 on a head unit either. So Amazon here I come.First off, this head unit is large. I included my hand in a pic to show off the size of it. I completely expected something about half to 2/3 of the size. So right away I’m very pleased. Second of all, the craftsmanship is equal to anything I have purchased from the big three. It is anodized beautifully, the black color appears very professional, and the attention to detail in the manufacturing process is quite obvious. The important bit is how it hold my lens. I can mount my 400mm and easily lock it from moving at all using the large oversized knob. A slight twist loosens it completely. Someone in the middle allows it to have adjustable resistance so that I can repoint the lens and it stays where I leave it.I will want a tripod next, and I have no trouble at all searching the same brand. It is well worth the price. They could charge 3x what I paid and I would still be happy. The biggest surprise was really the size. It is indeed bigger than I ever expected it to be. For what I paid I had expected something smaller. Would buy from again. I hesitated at first but if so glad I pulled the trigger.

As stated in other reviews the quality of the materials and the machining is very good but the up and down flexibility of the joint is too stiff for my equipment. It does not work smoothly with my Olympus 100-400mm zoom on my monopod therefore I'm returning it. It would be much better if there was some mechanism to control the degree of resistance to the flexing motion of the mount.

I use this on my monopod instead of a ball head. I don't like ball heads on a monopod, but a tilt head works great. Everything feels quality with this tilt head, smooth locking and unlocking, and looks to be very well made.

Just what I was looking for. For my heavy 600 mm lens the tightener is a bit on the light side.

Solid, all metal tilt head with extra large, smooth turning tilt adjustment knob. I rotated the Arca Swiss quick-release clamp 90 degrees using the included allen wrench. Now I can switch my camera w/ l-bracket from horizontal to vertical without a second clamp. I’m currently using this on my monopod but may interchange it with my tripod. Highly recommended, it was the only tripod/monopod head I found where the quick release could be rotated for l-bracket.

It is not a robust head and the finish in some areas look cheap and hence the price. For what it's worth, it will hold a DSLR with a 70-200/2.8 lens. If you want better quality and a solid hold, look at RRS monopod heads.

I have purchased many photo eq and this is the finest quality head for my carbon fiber monopod! I have purchased RRS plates and they are some of the best body & lens plates BUT cost so much and when you could purchase this made from RRS for $$$ more and not worth it, I was worried this only cost $59.95 how could it be as good as an RRS monopod head, well I am really glad that this is very high quality! It's super smooth as I wanted to use this with a Sigma 150-600 lens and once I put a lens plate on that lens and I have so many monopod heads this is the last one! I really like that I can use the big knob ad adjust how tight the movement is from front to back and once you set it to how tight you want it stays and what's also think of this walking around with my lens 150-600 pointing to the ground and locked tight from the quick release head and I can tilt the monopod to the sky and carry it really easy. So if you want to use a monopod but need a strong and high-quality head to use with a large lens BUY THIS NOW!

This is a really great monopod head if you want something that takes arca style plates, can hold a ton of weight, and provide a tilt to your monopod setup while sporting your big telephoto setup. The tilt knob is oversized, it's massive, huge, and very good. The head is reversible if needed. Arca style is critical to keep universal use with all my mounts and plates. The cost doesn't reflect the quality, this thing is way underpriced, as it's right up there with the big guns in mounts and punches well above it's weight. Very good quality. I've seen comparisons of this unit to RRS and other mount makers that are considered top tier, and this one is often right up there with them, despite the cost and despite being a potential clone. This lives on my monopod. This handles my 600mm + dSLR with ease.
